... loitable Exynos4 device.

For more information on the exploit itself, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048511 . Long story short, lots of Exynos4 based devices are wide open to any attacker. The exploit can be run from any APK without any special permissions. If you're not scared yet, you should be.

Damn my i9300 and Note 2 are on there but I am on AT&T variant. I assume the fix will still work though. Am I wrong? I just noticed I own 75% of your apps, a good portion of Supercurio's and I have AndreiLux's kernels on 2 of my devices. All star team page 1. I will give install a shot now on my S3 and Note 2 eight now. Big thanks Chainfire.

Thomas Larsen commented on 2012-12-16 at 14:36:

The AT&T i9300 isn't based on Exynos 4 i think?

John Joseph commented on 2012-12-16 at 14:41:

Thats, what I get for pulling all nighter. I have unlocked international S3 i9300 then on AT&T I have the Note 2 and Optimus G

Thomas Larsen commented on 2012-12-16 at 14:48:

The international one should be affected, googling the AT&T Note 2 seems to suggest it's an Exynos 4 as well, which would then also be affected.

nice work

John Joseph commented on 2012-12-16 at 14:53:

Lol..I have had SuperSU99 on my phone for a few days and the paid version.. lol

Roger Martinez commented on 2012-12-16 at 18:49:

I believe the Note II uses the newer Exynos 5 quad core cpu

Stefan Korunovski commented on 2012-12-16 at 19:56:

+Roger Martinez I believe you should buy iPhone.

Christian Egger commented on 2012-12-16 at 21:34:

Unbelievable, Samsung. Wonder what +Daniel Hillenbrand and others have to say about this.

Roger Martinez commented on 2012-12-16 at 21:57:

Ok, I was wrong. It has an Exynos 4412 CPU, which is 4 series. Guess I'll research it next time. I don't need an iPhone I'm happy with my GS3, thx.

Mani Abkar commented on 2012-12-16 at 22:50:

I think all android phones need this app

Ryan Evans commented on 2012-12-16 at 23:01:

Guess it's a good thing the NA models of the S3 have a Qualcomm chip...

Victor commented on 2012-12-17 at 00:30:

I can only guess that the SGS III SCH-I535 is also vulnerable since its basically the same as the other SGS III's mentioned in the XDA post?

shane chacon commented on 2012-12-17 at 01:43:

One time Verizon does good by changing some things on there devices talking about there version of gs3 running dual core qualcomm snapdragon pricessor.

Ernad Cerimovic commented on 2012-12-17 at 02:01:

Is the Epic 4g touch also voulnerable to this exploit or no. Cuz i know it has an Exynos Cpu too? But its an older phone thou.

Burk Manson commented on 2012-12-17 at 02:44:

+shane chacon  That was actually Samsung's decision so the US Galaxy S3's would get LTE. At the time there wasn't a LTE compatible Exynos ready for mass production (the special Korean version was sold in small amounts.)

Timo Sten commented on 2012-12-20 at 08:41:

Patched my SgS3 (GT-I9300) last night with your exynos exploit. No probs with camera either. Nice bonus getting root this way ;-)

Ka'Sheen Hightower commented on 2013-02-02 at 22:55:

How do I unpatch it so I can root my phone ?

Burk Manson commented on 2013-02-02 at 23:17:

+Ka'Sheen Hightower What phone do you have?

Chainfire commented on 2013-02-03 at 10:44:

+Ka'Sheen Hightower The whole point of patching it is making sure your phone isn't vulnerable anymore. As such, obviously, you cannot use that vulnerability to gain root. You'll have to root your phone through normal methods. What that normal method is depends on your phone model, Google it.

+Chainfire why will this method not work for t889 with the new ota 4.1.2?
