So good!

Chainfire commented on 2012-10-26 at 18:45:

This is bare root and nothing else. As the thread states, I'm no longer working with permanent custom recoveries.

Rich Henderson commented on 2012-10-26 at 18:46:

You ROCK!

Ludwig Monnier commented on 2012-10-26 at 19:18:

I want root n7000

Jason Bayton commented on 2012-10-26 at 19:37:

Have you heard of the "system" app asking for Root +Chainfire? Have been seeing that on my p7310. Denying it caused a soft reset!

Chainfire commented on 2012-10-26 at 21:25:

That's strange ... seeing as an app that doesn't have root can't reboot the device.

Jason Bayton commented on 2012-10-26 at 21:28:

System strikes me as a part of a ROM (Stock Samsung ICS) - would anything as far as you could guess run as root before rooting (and so then prompting for permission instead of just running?)

Chainfire commented on 2012-10-26 at 21:35:

Sure, parts of the system always run as root. But I really can't say what's going on here, it's not familiar to me, nor do I have that specific device. Never heard of this before, either.

Jason Bayton commented on 2012-10-26 at 21:37:

Excellent, I do enjoy being part of a minority.. sigh.

Apparently there's one other case of this on XDA and the thread went dead, so no idea what it was, but that was a GNex on a community ROM, mentioning ROM management.

I just wouldn't expect it on a stock ROM to be honest. I've half a mind to wipe. Though it hasn't caused any issues besides asking for root a lot.

Paul Akal commented on 2012-10-26 at 22:43:

Yup loving the upgrade, Cayman Islands!

Jason Bayton commented on 2012-10-26 at 23:06:

+Chainfire I switched to your SU app. Will see if that helps.

Florian Baumann commented on 2012-10-27 at 11:54:

Hi. Cf auto root flashed with Odin v1.85 is not working with a German stock Samsung jb Rom. The phone just reboots. V6.4 is working. Furthermore when I flash the stock jb Rom with Odin v1.85 I get csc unknown but if I flash it with mobile Odin the csc will be set.

Florian Baumann commented on 2012-10-27 at 11:55:

I use a sgs3.

Michal Horna commented on 2012-10-27 at 18:43:

O.K

Nidal Abdelghani commented on 2012-10-27 at 21:52:

I already have cfroot 6.3 installed I tried to install the auto root but it failed what should I do?

Aswin Vayiravan commented on 2012-10-29 at 03:56:

Hi Chainfire , I am u r HUUUGE FAN!

I have an I9300 in which I manually flashed stock 4.1.1(poland version)

will this process work for me and give root access?

JK JK commented on 2013-02-06 at 09:14:

Simple question. If I will use CF-AUTO-ROOT, will be OTA working after that?

Nidal Abdelghani commented on 2013-02-06 at 12:53:

No

JK JK commented on 2013-02-06 at 13:02:

And is there any solution how to root and keep OTA? How about TEMP ROOT any guide on web?

How will I able to do update of FW with root?

Nidal Abdelghani commented on 2013-02-06 at 13:10:

You Just can't

You have to choose

Root or ota

I choose root
