NOTICE: This content was originally posted to Google+, then imported here. Some formatting may be lost, links may be dead, and images may be missing.

This update allows you to disable (and re-enable) the exploit (work-around hack, may disable camera), also at boot (before any other app runs).

EDIT By now we've updated to v1.20 and then v1.30 :) No need to update if it's all working fine already though. See changelogs in the thread for further details

EDIT And 1.40 !

Well done you managed to beat samsung by at least 5 months.

Hans Voorwinden commented on 2012-12-17 at 09:53:

Great job!

Jonathon Thrumble commented on 2012-12-17 at 11:09:

Noticed only breaks the view of what you're looking at on the camera. The picture as gets taken as normal. On int sgs3.

Chuy Sanchez commented on 2012-12-17 at 18:17:

It's not working for Verizon Galaxy S3 with JB 4.1.1. I535VRBLK3

Tomáš Szakács commented on 2012-12-17 at 20:47:

yeah +Jonathon Thrumble  is right..works same here 4.1.2 XXELKC...btw what about siyah kernel? Does the exploit work on it?

Ivan Valtchanov commented on 2012-12-17 at 21:44:

Installed v1.20 on SGSII (GT-I9100, 4.0.4, non rooted) and it looks good (ls ~~l /dev/exynos-mem shows cr--------~~), both cameras front and back seem to work. Great work! Now, let me see if I can put CM10.1 thanks to the SuperSU and the exploit :-)

James Waltner commented on 2012-12-18 at 10:23:

Thanks Chainfire

David Álvarez commented on 2012-12-18 at 11:52:

Worked for me, but I got a firmware update and it does not let me update, I tried unrooting my s3 to update firmware and now it won't root it again neither let's me update firmware, tried triangle away but needs root and I can't either, what can I do?

Chainfire commented on 2012-12-18 at 13:36:

+David Álvarez Reflash your firmware

David Álvarez commented on 2012-12-18 at 13:40:

I had the original firmware, how do I reflash it? I already rooted it again old way and had access to your apk, I re enabled the exploit but still not allows me to update firmware, not even via kies

David Álvarez commented on 2012-12-18 at 13:42:

I´ve also used the triangle away option but nothing

Tomáš Szakács commented on 2012-12-18 at 14:30:

+David Álvarez don't use kies for updating...it won't work once you modify something... www.samfirmware.com find your device, country and carrier...you can find there all the official firmwares for every country

David Álvarez commented on 2012-12-18 at 17:44:

Ty a lot, i'll flash it with odin once 4.1.2 is available for my country/carrier

Chainfire commented on 2012-12-19 at 14:30:

Updated to 1.40 !

Richard Mendoza commented on 2012-12-22 at 18:45:

HELLO GOOD AFTERNOON. INSTALL IN MY SAMSUNG S2 ExynosAbuse PROGRAM-v1.40.apk - and is that the camera allows me to take pictures or make videos .. I wonder what solutions you have for this inconvenience .. PLEASE

Martin Hahasagined commented on 2012-12-29 at 01:38:

not sure if thats possible but could you install cwm without flashing too? would it be possible to integrate that in your app?

great app btw.. thx!

Frankco Harris commented on 2013-01-03 at 00:29:

Yo Mr. Chainfire are there any new updates for the ExynosAbuse APK. V1.40 has broken my email & notification. Verizon Gnote2 thanks

David Álvarez commented on 2013-01-04 at 07:17:

I just updated my firmware to 4.1.2 UK BTU official firmware that according to SamMobile "fixes the Exynos Abuse" and not confirmed but supposedly the sudden dead. I still have your app and though I re rooted the phone with CF Root it still appears in your app that the exploit is enabled, can you confirm that the last BTU UK Update (CSC: I9300 OXAELLA) fixes the Exynos Exploit? I really don´t want to take risks with my S3, I already suffered from sudden dead and had to replace the entire mother board (they told me it was because the smartphone fell, but it felt 1 month before it just woke up dead)

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-04 at 14:58:

+David Álvarez I have not confirmed myself, but I've heard from others it does indeed plug the leak (in a fairly noobish way)

David Álvarez commented on 2013-01-04 at 15:53:

+Chainfire I got this private message form SamMobile Ricnar: "This the tool says is vulnerable but when you try use the exploit do not work, is fixed, the tool do not detect the patch, the reason samsung patch in different form than the author of the tool, but is no vulnerable anymore." and sent me this thread of XDA, I think this confirms it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36189132&postcount=149 BTW, great app, I used it to protect and root my device until this update and just worked great, Ty a lot!

Krystian Konopka commented on 2013-01-06 at 23:14:

It's not working on international Galaxy S III 4.1.2 BTU

David Álvarez commented on 2013-01-07 at 13:39:

+Krystian Konopka I Undrestand that the only firmware with the new bootloader that fixes the Exynos Exploit is the UK last update the one with CSC: I9300 OXAELLA, the international BTU is not still updated, you can try and flash the UK BTU via ODIN, I flashed it because i had the UK firmware in my S3

Krystian Konopka commented on 2013-01-07 at 19:05:

+David Álvarez But I'm talking about I9300XXELLA from December 24th. I've wiped my phone, then flashed this firmware via Odin, then wiped again, and then I've wrote previous comment. It's not working on XXELLA BTU

David Álvarez commented on 2013-01-08 at 19:59:

For me it worked, the apk says the phone is exploitable but when you try to root it (or disable if already rooted) it gives an error

Krystian Konopka commented on 2013-01-08 at 20:06:

+David Álvarez so it doesn't work. If you're getting error pop up while trying to root the device, that means sometning is wrong.

Pradip Gagiya commented on 2013-01-09 at 18:04:

Hi i m having kernel version ddlr1 on gt-n7000 will it work for me?

David Álvarez commented on 2013-01-09 at 23:10:

+Krystian Konopka I understand that no, that means the exploit has been fixed that is why the apk cannot root the device using the exploit, and it can´t also block the exploit because there is nothing to block

Rommel Gonzales commented on 2013-01-14 at 09:06:

+Chainfire i tried the app but it shows my firmware / device is not exploitable and then my main cam does not work anymore. only the front cam is working. is there a way to fix it without reflashing via PC? My device is N7000 running stock GB XXKL8.

Pradip Gagiya commented on 2013-01-14 at 09:16:

the apk that i have says its 1.40

Pradip Gagiya commented on 2013-01-14 at 09:18:

so is it possible that after rooting by this apk(as it doesnt changes kernel version) the device can recieve OTA update?

楊嘉明 commented on 2013-02-01 at 06:15:

I can use ExynosAbuse v1.1 to root my Galaxy Note II (Android 4.1.1). But after I upgrade it to Android 4.1.2,ExynosAbuse can not root my device any more. Will you issue new version ?

David Álvarez commented on 2013-02-02 at 06:27:

Is because 4.1.2 update already fixes the issue and the app cannot root anymore

David Álvarez commented on 2013-02-24 at 17:30:

read the upper post +Patricia Cheng don't think the app is going to be updated because the exploit is fixed.

Erik Kellerman commented on 2013-07-26 at 18:27:

Does not work on Samsung Galaxy S3 with 4G :(
