Furthermore it adds an option that may workaround the system modified state under Settings. This is a complicated matter though, I strongly advise you to read the first two posts of the XDA thread, where it is explained: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36360447&postcount=2

This app works fine on my galaxy s3

Dude some prediction for the solution to the bootloader XELLA? He is showing a red exclamation point (!).

Vasilis Tzanoudakis commented on 2013-01-06 at 20:42:

+Chainfire I know I am a little bit off topic, but can you tell us if there is any progress in root access for secondary accounts in jelly bean

Piotr Slysz commented on 2013-01-06 at 21:41:

Worked fine on galaxy tablet 2 7.0 model P-3113

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-06 at 21:46:

Didn't know work on my GN 2 7100 XXALIJ stock. I stuck with root being temporarily disabled...

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-06 at 23:14:

+Carlyle Souza You need to run a STOCK kernel and a STOCK recovery. That is all.

+Vasilis Tzanoudakis Hopefully coming end of this week to SuperSU

+denis sorn Please wait at least 10 minutes for root to return

Dirk Eisenblätter commented on 2013-01-06 at 23:31:

Thanks a lot for the new possibility to get a normal Status in Settings and in case of this being able to get OTA's again. Works fine on my S3.

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 01:08:

I have waited much longer, over an hour. Flashed supersu zip and that didn't work immediately, I was still getting the message like I don't have superuser installed, but than superuser started working and offered me a su binary upgrade.

I have everything stock except bootloader. Could that be a problem problem? Also the most of Samsung stuff is frozen...

Carlyle Souza commented on 2013-01-07 at 02:47:

Thank you Chain for the help and for your apps that make our lives easier.

Johnny Bravo commented on 2013-01-07 at 07:37:

you are the man mate thanks ..... more beers for you !!

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 08:14:

I tried the "system modifed state" workaround on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but now the Su-binary has gone, so I can no longer gain root-access. I had SuperSu Pro installed (and Triangle Away, obviously). I tried to re-install su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip, but I get the error it is "bad". You've got any advise?

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 09:47:

With install you of course mean you have flashed? Maybe the file you have downloaded is corrupted. I have flashed su zip normaly, but it didn't start working immediately. After maybe an hour I tried again to open SuperSU app and it worked, offering me to update the su binary. Now everything is working fine.

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 09:49:

+denis sorn Where can I find su.zip?

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-07 at 10:26:

I'm not sure what happened or what went wrong, but what I do know is that you guys are mixing Superuser with SuperSU, which can only lead to problems ...

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 10:30:

I do not mix that two. Maybe I typed somewhere the name of Supersu zip package wrong, but I never use superuser. I have SuperSU Pro installed.

+Guillaume Hanique I will check later when I get home.

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 10:46:

+Chainfire I had SuperSU Pro installed. It took a lot of trial and error, installing Superuser, starting SuperSU, trying to replace the binary, downloading SU Update Fixer, forcing an update, failing, starting SuperSU - now it appears to be working again... until I reboot. Now SuperSU keeps complaining there is no su binary installed.

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 11:04:

Ok I hope Chainfire has nothing against sharing. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzWjtsNsrKcmWkppUlVKSjgxOXc/edit

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-07 at 15:05:

+Guillaume Hanique +denis sorn If you still have the problem, try keeping the device on for 5-10 minutes, including the screen. I've found a bug (that will soon be fixed) that can cause root to stay hidden for a very long time unless the screen is on.

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 15:12:

Thanks for your work.

I'll probably wait for a fixed release, if I don't get bored tonight :-)

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 15:17:

+Chainfire Peculiar bug :-) Great to know that there is a workaround. I've got root access now, so I'll try to keep my phone alive. Any idea when you have a fix for the bug? (Not meaning to rush you).

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-07 at 15:36:

+Guillaume Hanique a few hours at most

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 16:08:

+Chainfire Oooh, I can wait a few hours!

Chainfire commented on 2013-01-07 at 16:18:

It has been released to both Play (takes a few hours to update) as well as XDA (download right now). Make sure you have su restored, then open the updated TriangleAway, it should automatically take care of the issue for next boot.

Tushar Dhawan commented on 2013-01-07 at 18:56:

Nice work +Chainfire

Can u guys also think of making something like 'LOCK AWAY' for Nexus devices, when we unlock their bootloader, a lock appears below Google logo on boot.

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-07 at 19:02:

+Chainfire You're the best! Thanks!

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-07 at 19:46:

I can confirm that the bug has been resolved. Unfortunately nothing seems to work in my case. I always get 'device status' modified under system settings. Maybe because I am not using the stock recovery. Will try to flash it and see if that helps.

Steven Knese commented on 2013-01-09 at 02:21:

I have a sgh i317 ATT note 2. It is rooted. I cannot get the latest update because of the root according to ATT. Any way to trick it? I see 2 arrows on my update screen in the left corner. One is red...the other blue. Can I change settings in SuperSU? I need the multiwindow update.

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-09 at 06:36:

+Steven Knese Perhaps you're suffering from the bug that the su binary reappears after having had your display turned on for 5 to 10 minutes. So keep your phone alive for 10 minutes and then retry applying the update.

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-09 at 08:50:

Regarding 'temporary' disabled root bug, I have had the same thing happening to me with S3 I9305 LTE all stock, rooted with Exinos abuse. I was keeping my screen on and phone busy definitely much more then 10 minutes, if not for an hour. And afterwards I left it with screen on for a while... on the end I had to flash cwm recovery to be able to flash supersu zip again. Yeah I forgot to disable 'disable exploit on boot' in Exinos abuse.

I smoke weed and I'm the only person in my family that halfway understand this shit.

denis sorn commented on 2013-01-11 at 06:45:

The workaround with such temporarily disabled seems to work only for a short period of time. Don't know how long, but when I checked the phone state yesterday it has been recognised as modified again. GN 7100.

Bill Macintyre commented on 2013-01-12 at 23:19:

can someone help i used mobile odin to flash nightly all i have now when turn on phone is samsung logo is my phone f'd

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-13 at 00:09:

+Bill Macintyre It'll be hard to help you remotely, but all may not be lost. You may be able to put your phone in download mode by holding the down, home and power buttons while the phone is turned off and then use Odin and a laptop to flash another rom. Another option may be by saving a custom rom as update.zip to the root of the SD card and use recovery to install the rom (hold the up, home and power button). Try looking on YouTube for movies where people do this kind of stuff.

Hey I am in desperate need of help.  The guide you made looks amazing for jelly bean but it does not seem to support my phone.  I'm new to all of this.  Please point me in the right direction?

Model: SGH-T989

BASEBAND: T989UVLDE

ANDROID: 2.3.6

PLEASE HELP!

Guillaume Hanique commented on 2013-01-23 at 05:39:

+Michael J. Freiermuth Perhaps you can unroot your phone, apply the update and then reroot your phone? Or perhaps you can update manually using Odin?

Danilo Arcuri commented on 2013-02-01 at 19:24:

Hi, triangle away will never support galaxy s advance?

sopheak hean commented on 2013-02-02 at 06:25:

SuperSU Temporary disabled option will disable SuperSU for about 3 minutes after rebooted. So wait until then and it should be back to normal. You should get a message say SuperSU access restored.

I tried software update on teh hone and it says "connecting to server.." then "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available."

I tried using Triangle Away to temporarily disable SuperSU

and it did disable SuperSU and all that but I still get the error of "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available."

  1. How do I make it so I can check for updates OTA?

  2. Also how do I know if my kernal is stock or not?

  3. How do I make copies of the important stuff like that?

  4. Also, lastly, I keep hearing people talking about flashing things to their phone while it's connected to their computer.. how do I do that??

I'm not a total newbie, as I have rooted my phone, installed photosphere.

I also used to have an S3 and a mesmreize rooted also so I am familiar with some things.

If anyone can answer any of my questions please do so!

Just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it, then if I need help or whatever I'll ask and we can go from there.
