(This is a testing pre-release and will not be on Play)

Still no public release, here's some fixes to the last test release. Maybe a public release tomorrow.

Changes

v1.18

  • Fixed process name detection issue

  • Various minor modifications to UI

  • Freeloader option (not sure if that's staying)

  • android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - detection and display (disabled by default, see settings)

  • Internal refactoring

v1.17

  • Added basic tablet theme

  • Changed default theme+icon to light+emblem (you can change it back in settings, if you want)

  • Fixed some issues with the light theme

  • Added TWRP/CWM binary installer

  • Added android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - no enforcement or warnings yet

  • Several security improvements

Test

v1.18

If you noticed any problems with v1.17, please try with v1.18 :)

v1.17

Some important code in the su binary has changed. This shouldn't break anything, but please test with as many root apps if you have if they still behave the same.

I've also added a TWRP/CWM binary installer for the many users who are on devices or firmwares that cannot easily update the binary. Please let me know how that works out for you.

As tablet owners will notice, I've adjusted the screen layout somewhat. For smaller tablets this will only be visible in landscape, for large tablets the new layout is available both in portrait and landscape. Let me know how this new layout works for you.

Last and (from a technical point of view) least, I've changed the default theme and icon to Holo Light and Emblem, from Holo Dark and SuperAndy. You can still select the old combination, but this new combo has grown on me so much, I cannot stand looking at the old one anymore. Give it a chance to grow on you too!

From the changelog this looks like a minor update, but more code has been changed than in most updates to SuperSU :)

Feedback

Feedback is preferred in the XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 - but obviously I also read comments here.

NOTE As last time, the link will be taken down if a new version (test or public) is available. You will also see this same changelog again with a public release. This is only for people who know what they're doing :)

+Jeremy Loper Does busybox work without doing su first ? If not, your busybox executable needs to be "chmod +x" ... it's not installed correctly.
