Just a maintenance update fixing 4.3 OTAs and OTA survival mode. Also a bugfix regarding environment variables that weren't copied to the daemon.

All CF-Auto-Root's have also been updated, and I added the CF-Auto-Root for the new 2013 Nexus 7.

Changelog

  • 4.3: Reworked OTA survival - should work properly now, and no longer causes OTA errors (also: +i removed from install-recovery)

  • Daemon: client ENV is now provided to su'd calls

  • Updated language files

Just updated to supersu 1.55. Binaries install the "normal" way now. Seems to be working fine. Thanks! Good things come in time.

Mohit Virmani commented on 2013-09-01 at 05:36:

I just updated to 1.55, rebooted phone and lost root. :( Nexus 4

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 05:39:

Mohit did it ask you to update binaries. If so you need to.

Mohit Virmani commented on 2013-09-01 at 05:44:

Yes it did. I selected to update by normal method. After update it asked me to reboot. I lost root after that.

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 05:46:

Open up supersu and if it asks you again flash it in recovery.

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 05:48:

I updated "normal" way on my gnex, rebooted and things were fine. Maybe try flashing in recovery.

Mohit Virmani commented on 2013-09-01 at 06:04:

It just tells me that binary is not installed and super su can't install it. Same thing happened last month after the 4.3 update. I know flashing it again via recovery will fix it, but why does this happen every time there is an update? Seems to be an issue affecting only the nexus 4.

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 06:08:

No. It happened on my gnex also. I ended up going to supersu settings and installing backup recovery script. Then I flashed binaries in recovery. After my next CM 10.2 nightly flash, rebooted, opened supersu and everything was good.

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 06:09:

Are you on a custom ROM?

Kev K commented on 2013-09-01 at 06:10:

I believe framework and binaries are different on 4.2 and 4.3.

Mohit Virmani commented on 2013-09-01 at 06:49:

No I'm on stock Rom and kernel. I just installed the 1.55 update via recovery. It still tells me that there is no binary installed. :(

Andy Cullis commented on 2013-09-01 at 10:36:

Riccardo Belletti commented on 2013-09-01 at 11:20:

+Mohit Virmani i've a n4 too and the update went good

Joe Philipps commented on 2013-09-01 at 12:29:

I have been having an issue with the 4.3+ editions of SuperSU (v1.50 and up).  Typically with a shell I do do "exec su" but not always.  After exiting the su subprocess (Ctrl-D or "exit" for examples), the tty modes are all screwed up.  The two most noticeable effects are "ocrnl" and "echo" are both turned off.  As expected, "stty sane" kind of gets things back to "normal."  Just a suggestion, and not sure it's even possible, but could you please get and store the termios settings, and restore them before exit()?

Joe Philipps commented on 2013-09-01 at 12:31:

+Azusa Nakano, I recommend against pointing to specific versions of the .zip, unless you have a reason (e.g., the current one does not work properly).  Instead I would recommend http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu so that whoever follows the link is presented with the LATEST .zip and not a specific version.

Mohit Virmani commented on 2013-09-01 at 13:07:

After flashing it for the 4th time via recovery, it finally worked.

Chainfire commented on 2013-09-01 at 13:55:

+Joe Philipps why are you doing "exec su" instead of just "su" ? I'm not really sure what's going on here, nor do I seem to be able to reproduce the issue.

Stuart Anderson commented on 2013-09-03 at 19:45:

I'm having the same problem as +Mohit Virmani was having since the OTA update for 4.3 I can't get root back tried flashing 1.55 with recovery mod but the SuperSU app is still telling me su isn't installed. Does anyone have any ideas?

Stuart Anderson commented on 2013-09-03 at 21:03:

As a follow on, I've found the su binary in /system/xbin not /system/bin could that be my problem?

DuWayne Skoglund commented on 2013-09-04 at 22:13:

I have RAZR HD. Such 1.45 do I really need to update to 1.55 ? Just wondering. Thank you for all of your work.

DuWayne Skoglund commented on 2013-09-08 at 20:10:

My question is this I guess. With other phone I rooted' If there was any issue with the s.u. update. All I needed to do is uninstall updates & roll back to the su. The roping app. Installed. Will this be the same? Thank you in advance for your help.

DuWayne Skoglund commented on 2013-09-12 at 23:40:

Super Such in now up to 1.65. I still am at 1.45. I am not sure if I need to update or should. Any feedback is welcome.
