I know the Note 3 release was only yesterday (see https://plus.google.com/113517319477420052449/posts/fgJTUMCHfQ5 ) but apparently there were major issues with the S4 I9505 on Android 4.3 that I was not aware of.

Those should now be fixed. Note that with the I9505 on 4.3 you should also be using 4.3 bootloaders, or weird things will happen. These newer bootloaders are actually much easier to work with, thank Samsung.

Note that S4 variants will need their own updates when they reach 4.3. Let me know when that happens so I can add support.

A problem with flashing CSCs has also been fixed (this would lead for example to Samsung Keyboard and Pen Input errors after flashing).

Chain is awesome! Terrible on that Knox thing though..

Christopher Schmidt commented on 2013-11-04 at 18:47:

When starting last version 3.85 it mentioned about working with 4.3 Bootloaders (MJ7+), first official stock 4.3 was MJ5 (DBT). I think this should be same bootloader, first bootloader come when S4, was released, second come with MH5 (4.2.2) and third one (4.3) comes with MJ5

Thanks for you great work!

Peter Radics commented on 2013-11-04 at 18:47:

S4 variant means s4 mini too?

Chainfire commented on 2013-11-04 at 18:49:

+Christopher Schmidt may well be true - but I've only tested with MJ7 bootloaders so I can't know for sure if MJ5's will work.

+Peter Radics No. S4 Mini is a completely different device.

Peter Radics commented on 2013-11-04 at 18:51:

Is there any chance that s4 mini become a supported device ? Probably when it gets the offical 4.3 or 4.4?

Thanks your answer! ;)

Joseph Tembo commented on 2013-11-04 at 19:31:

Thank you mate. This is a life saver when one flashes every update of firmware.

Martin Rauschenbach commented on 2013-11-04 at 21:35:

Thanks +Chainfire

I'll try with the next FW release!

Chainfire commented on 2013-11-04 at 21:42:

Well, I'm a bit weary of adding recent devices that I do not own, or at least own a variant of. Samsung is now using so many different protections, hacks and weirdness, that I'm always worried I'm breaking stuff ...

casey carter commented on 2013-11-05 at 00:00:

+Chainfire any support for the at&t galaxy s4 ? Thank you advance your work is great

Kevin Ten Eyck commented on 2013-11-05 at 02:08:

Hey +Chainfire any plans to add S4 Google Play edition? I've provided the dump files requested on xda, but I fear it was lost in the thread.

Matt Booth commented on 2013-11-05 at 07:56:

+Chainfire how can we use 4.3 bootloaders when they're bollocks up with KNOX? My S4 came with MGA and I immediately put the Google Play ROM on. My phone will never see a KNOX 4.3 bootloader as long as I'm the one using it.

Chainfire commented on 2013-11-05 at 08:54:

+casey carter doesn't that have a locked bootloader ?

+Kevin Ten Eyck as I understand it, that device works quite a bit differently (flash wise) as the I9505. I'm not sure though... maybe?

+Matt Booth that's obviously your choice. That will mean that flashing on 4.3 using Mobile ODIN has a high risk of soft-bricking (especially when flashing MODEM partitions, by the way - maybe if you avoid those it'll be good, but no guarantees)

Matt Booth commented on 2013-11-05 at 09:06:

Ahhh I see. I don't use mobile Odin, but should be fine flashing modems on the desktop with Odin?

And yeah, not in a hurry for KNOX. I know my EU rights regarding warranty but I'd rather not have to test them out :/

casey carter commented on 2013-11-05 at 13:20:

+Chainfire yes it does I didnt know if you could work around some how ... Thanks for the response I loved mobile Odin on my s3 thanks anyways keep up the good work

Kevin Ten Eyck commented on 2013-11-05 at 20:41:

+Chainfire I'm happy to try stuff out, and flashing does still happen through ODIN. (in addition to being able to flash with fastboot). -- Just let me know!

In the latest update, in my app drawer the app name is no longer mobile odin pro, it is now: eu.chainfire.mobileodin.core.MainActivity

And when placing it on my home screen there is no icon, just the text for the name.

I've tried to flash the new GT-i9505-FW (MK8) with #MobileOdin nut now it stuck on flashing modem :/

edit:

hmmmm...i restart the S4 after 20 min. No Wlan :/.

I flashed the new FW with pc version (3.07) and cf-auto-root. now it works like a charm.

If there any root support for 4.3 jellybean for Canadian i337m Galaxy s4. If previous root file of 4.2.2 will work?

Genilson Israel commented on 2013-11-25 at 20:47:

+Chainfire I downloaded a CyanogenMod ROM and tried to install it with Mobile ODIN Pro through the OTA/Update Zip option. After clearing and flashing the recovery, it showed "OTA/Update ZIP" and then froze. The progress bar won't move, and it's been like that for the last 20 minutes or so. I don't know what to do!

Genilson Israel commented on 2013-11-27 at 13:36:

Ok, looks like MOP is only good for stock ROMs, sorry. Then it's gonna be useful when I decide to go back to stock. Thanks!

Casey French commented on 2014-01-17 at 16:43:

where do I send a mobile odin dump file for you to add support for my device, I have the t mobile T999L , DocHoliday77@xda sent this dump to you just a couple of weeks after the T999L was released, and I'm guessing it might have been lost in the works since there is still no support for it. I do know that it has the same build as the AT&T i747 (d2att) which might have contributed to lack of support if you looked and just thought someone was sending you a dump of an already supported device, but I just wanted to see how I could get this info to youto get the device supported. I'm not o G+ often you can pm me on xda @ MotoDefier
