I've just uploaded SuperSU v1.75 to Google Play, which should start updating over the next few hours. All CF-Auto-Root's have also been updated. The download box at the bottom of this post leads to the latest flashable ZIP.
Most of the changes were already in the last beta. If you missed that, it fixed a number of issues from the v1.69 release, and saw a lot of security-related code changes. Most of the latter inspired by a mini audit done by Kevin Cernekee (more of this to come).
Those security code changes created some issues with various ROMs on older devices, though. These problems have now also been solved, and as no other major issues have been reported with the v1.72 beta, v1.75 is now public and official.

Updating now
In case, that 4.4 will be OTAed some day, will SuperSU survive with survival mode enabled?
Thank you Chainfire!
Is working with ART ?
The master continues his great work
Re: ART issues, I had some myself, but others have reported it works fine, no further testing has been done on this.
This version and 1.69 reset my phones language everytime i reboot!!! I9505
It appears that the language on reboot problem has been solved. Many thanks!
Language reset is Not solved on my GS2 i9100 4.1.2 stock.
Thanks bro done...
Resetting language problem still be persisted with my Note II GT-N7100
Perseus kernel, Stock rom 4.1.2.
+Giuseppe Bastino +Sere Seraph After installation and updating the binary, you have to reboot once, then set the language back to whatever, then reboot again. Then it should stick.
Thanks !
Great work as usual! Thank you.
Ok after second reboot now is ok. Thank you +Chainfire
Added mgyun (vroot) uninstall procedure , means that if I use the Chinese vroot method, then with this new feature will unistall the Chinese superuser and leave only the superSU?
I get the Security Update on my Note 3 asking for root privileges. I denied it. Knox is all frozen anyway so don't think it's a big deal.
+Dim Kit Hopefully, yes.
+Chainfire I'm using Moto X (4.2.2) and I got OTA to 4.4. Can I enable "survival mode" and update to 4.4 w/out losing root?
+Dmitry Chorine you can try. It probably won't work (because you're crossing the magic 4.3 barrier), but it might.
Thank you Chainfire! After rebooting again, my problem solved. (^^)
I'm using super user pro with ART and haven't seen any issue. Thanks for the great work
Noticed that on 4.4 (Nexus 5) that a /su folder is written to at boot giving some apps "false rooting" info; this smells like Android system doing this, though I don't have a 2nd 4.4 handset to check. This isn't SuperSU writing to the /su folder on root for OTA protection or something like that??. It's just an su-mksh file there which I've not seen on any superuser setups on 4.3.. Really causing a muck with apps that dumbly look for root prevention by looking for a "\su folder" +Chainfire (PS: this /su folder is recreated at each boot - renaming it to su2 prevents apps from detecting a dumb root view attempt and doesn't seem to affect SuperSU at all. )
1.75 made me lose root on my HTC One, downloaded 1.72b flashed in recovery and it did not fix my issue
Forgive my ignorance, but is it possible yet to use this and associated... software with the recent Knox-fortified devices? I've picked up mixed messages so it would be great to hear from the source. Oh, and thanks!
+Ernesto Ortega my HTC one has the same programs!!
+Chainfire I found a minor minor minor bug. When closing the app, I see the launcher icons and the app overlayed on my N5, Stock 4.4
+Nick Pandher Actually that is caused by SuperSU. I'll name it differently.
+Chainfire Thanks for the quick response. Any harm then post boot renaming the folder? Also of disable superuser maybe delete the folder in case any apps use whatever name you can use for root detection
Language reset is solved on my GS2 i9100 4.1.2 stock.
HTC One Google Edition - No matter what I try, 1.75 keeps breaking root. Haven't tried 1.72b but I had to revert to 1.69 to get root back.
+Chainfire I rooted the Nexus 7 (2012) with the latest CF-Auto-Root. Everything works fine, but now with every (re)boot I keep seeing the red Android logo from CF-Auto-Root for less than 1 second just before loading the OS. Is that normal and how it's supposed to behave? I'm running the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
Thanks just got mine
If i could root my note 3 i would love to check this new version of su!
Thanks bro u r the best
I want to learn about how to root my s4,I have tried about 100 times but I do something wrong every f**cking time :$
If you please want to help me,you make my day :) mail me :) frokenstroken81@gmail.com
hey man i updated to the latest version of supersu from the play store. my app "Bloomberg" crashed immediately after that. i turned the phone off and couldn't turn on the phone since. seems like it's totally bricked. just checking if supersu could maybe have caused it? PM me and i'll feed u more details! pankelley@gmail.com
+Chainfire I hope you don't mind the question, but have you ever considered to open source this app? Some people say Koushik Dutta developed his superuser app, mostly because yours one is not open source. On the other side, I think I remember reading in one of your post here on G+, just after superuser was announced, something about that, and you was not so against it...
Is it possible to root a galaxy note 2 w/ cfautoroot? I tried, but knox blocks superSu. Have I used a wrong version?
Are you positive it will survive the 4.4 update on Nexus 7 2012? Scared to try.
I got 4.4 OTA on N7 2013 today, but android lain with red exclamation mark latter.I got the ver 1.75 SuperSU from google play without reinstallation and checked the survival mode. What should I do for this. Thanks for any help!
Upgraded to 1.75 for OTA survival fix. Got the 4.4 OTA but SuperSU did not survive the upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4. I get the following msg when I open SuperSU - "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it..."
+Salil Das i'm just curious about it: do you have a nexus 4? did you have a custom recovery before the OTA?
Nexus 4: yes. Custom Recovery: Yes (TWRP) +Riccardo Belletti
i use Root Explorer on N4, Custom Recovery (CWM)
Every version since UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip, whenever i try to change permissions i get th
"Permissions change was not successful" message
if i reinstall UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip then i am able to change permissions successfully.
This is not ideal because then th superSU UI is always warning about needing to update binary and i am unable to use th apps UI.
And just so i am joining in on this thread, don't worry about losing root with an update, boot your Custom Recovery and reinstall UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.XX.zip from SD it does not take long OTA's don't seem to included recovery.img, i lose root all th time
+Klyntone Bourserk yeah I did this way with 4.3 ota but it seems 4.4 ota kills cwm and root
+Riccardo Belletti +Klyntone Bourserk So I downloaded platform-tools-v16.zip from XDA to get fastboot for mac.
Downloaded the latest TWRP and SuperSU from their websites and then used fastboot to manually load the TWRP recovery and then manually rooting (via TWRP) SuperSU. #Finally got root back on N4 with 4.4
+Riccardo Belletti maybe th 4.4 OTA includes recovery then, i'm sure we'll hear news of it at some point.
+Salil Das i installed th factory image as soon as it was out, booted to fastboot straight away, flashed CWM and then installed superSU from sd, it has almost become second nature.
Thanks & working like a charm
+Chainfire Keep up the brilliant work sir.
once changed to ART on Nexus 5, there is endless optimization occuring on every start-up. Curious if it is SuperSU related.
Your super user app is awesome but is it possible to get gamecih working with it again the app says system denied root since 1.6.9
I'm sure it's not related but I get an error 7 and it halts and won't update. I now am trying to get wug to back up the user partition so I can wipe the phone and try to push the update again. It had SuperSU1.65 on it when it tried the first time. I updated it to 1.75 and it still fails out saying there were "unexpected contents" of GoogleHindiIME.apk which I never recall installing seeing as I don't know Hindi.
Chainfire are you going to develop any root method (like Chinese vroot) which does not increase the knox counter in Samsung devices. Also in the change log you said that Added mgyun (vroot) uninstall procedure. I can not find this option in the application
Could someone tell me if its possible to root note 3 on MJ7 ?
I did have problems wit version 1.72b as metioned in that thread before, today I decided to completely reflash my HTC one, with a complete wipe of my data and sytem. After that I reïnstalled Sinless Rom with ElementalX Kernel and all is working fine now...
I've been using CWR to flash the 1.75 zip but I keep getting "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it" ...any ideas. I've reset, wiped the cache and tried installing the zip to no avail :( Any suggestions?
I'm having some weird issues on KRT16S (Android 4.4) on a 2013 Nexus 7 LTE: the pin prompt constantly flashes and I can't manage to input it, I just managed to type it twice when I set it, then it started to go insane.
Same deal for the allow/deny dialog while an application requests permissions, the dialog is constantly closed and reopened.
I'm running SuperSU 1.75, freshly installed via TWRP.
Addendum: force-closing the SuperSU app fixes the pin flashing issue, while I'm still experiencing issues with the dialog - especially in apps which force the orientation to landscape.
+Jorrit Jongma +Chainfire Using SuperSU 1.75 on stock Nexus 4 KRT16S, getting HUGE battery drain because of SuperSU app. Eating at least 25%. Please help or advise. TIA.
+Deepak Pansare Post in the thread on XDA ...

One of the greatest thing created that we take for granted without you chainfire root could not be possible on the Android OS
Thanks for all your contribution in Xda and Android/smartphone/technology world
Again thanks
Knox blocks supersu everytime i try...have u found a way around yet?
