Minor update to SuperSU. Fixes some issues - nothing spectacular. Updating is advised as always but no rush :)

Play will start updating in a few hours, in the box below is the link to the flashable ZIP.

Changelog

  • Fix su to non-root user on 4.3+

  • Fix su permission reset on 4.4 (will not be an issue until Samsung comes out with stock 4.4 ROMs)

  • Fix am crash due to external storage not being defined

  • App now offers to install backup script if ROM supports it

  • Expand trust system setting to include all higher-than-shell users

  • Added credits display

  • Completely removed nag capability

  • Lots of code changes

+Chainfire So now i can simply root my s3 i9300 under 4.3 just by flashing using CWM and then installing binary like i do in 4.1.2 ???

Pavel Tikhonov commented on 2013-12-15 at 16:49:

Lol I just flashed 1.80 and there's already 1.85 available

Mehdi Nocturne commented on 2013-12-15 at 16:51:

+Павел Тихонов just go to the play store and update your root ^^ !!! In fact wich version of android you use ???

Black Onyx commented on 2013-12-15 at 16:53:

+Chainfire, I'm not very good with tech, but I would like to know how to free up internal memory on my LG Optimus L9. I watched a YouTube video, but again, I'm not very technologically inclined...please help! Lol!

Mehdi Nocturne commented on 2013-12-15 at 16:55:

+Sonya Ellis did you tried +Clean Master ????? If not then you have to...

Pavel Tikhonov commented on 2013-12-15 at 16:57:

+Mehdi Nocturne 4.4.2.. but wait, I thought that you can't update the root itself (not the SuperSU app/client) from within the application? I always flashed new SU manually from recovery

Mehdi Nocturne commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:00:

+Павел Тихонов when you have supersu installed on your device you can simply update it in the play store if they put the new version in it !!!! I did this many times when i check updates i found a new version of supersu but in the first time you have to use cwm ... it's normal

Black Onyx commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:10:

+Mehdi Nocturne No, I haven't tried it cause as I said I'm not technologically inclined...lol. Does it get rid of all the T-Mobile junk?

Mehdi Nocturne commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:11:

+Sonya Ellis then go ahead you will find your happiness lol

s hall commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:16:

+Chainfire I downloaded, mainly just to have it, stock 4.3 for t0ltetmo Note2 variant and was wondering whether CF Auto-Root is still beating down Knox. I ask as I'd like to return to stock via Odin simply for structural purposes. My Note2 has been through flash wars and I imagine there's not one thing remotely reminiscent of factory in the device's framework. Already running custom 4.4.2 Betas, should I even bother flashing stock only to deal with nightmare TouchWiz again, maybe gain back a little from scratch stability?

Black Onyx commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:16:

Thanks +Mehdi Nocturne

Mehdi Nocturne commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:19:

+Sonya Ellis you're welcome

Waldemar Wiegel commented on 2013-12-15 at 17:54:

So glad I bought the pro version to support you guys. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Ryan Cavitt commented on 2013-12-15 at 18:36:

+Sonya Ellis one way to delete the T-Mobile/carrier bloatware would be to use Titanium Backup from the play store. It can delete system apps such as carrier bloatware.

Brian Moyer commented on 2013-12-15 at 18:43:

Thanks Chainfire. Just updated. PS. Thanks for the CF root also. Rooted my Rogers SGH-I747M in under 30 seconds like you said. Merry Christmas and thanks for all your hard work.

+Chainfire What is nag capability?

Black Onyx commented on 2013-12-15 at 19:23:

+Ryan Cavitt Thanks, going to look for it now. I'm having problems downloading apps because I'm running out of room.

Good work bro ...

Fernando Viñan-Cano commented on 2013-12-15 at 20:09:

Updated my N5 all working well. What's the safest way to reboot? Hate having to switch off then back on, but a "reboot" command in terminal seems more like a reset i.e. very quick unlike the CyanogenMod power menu option that shows a proper shutdown then a reboot.

Keneth Correa commented on 2013-12-15 at 20:36:

I updated to v1.85 on both Samsung S3 (JB 4.3) and Nexus 7 GSM (2012) [KK 4.4.2]. Earlier when on v1.80, my S3 would prompt "Root possibly lost. Fix root?" but my Nexus 7 never showed that prompt. After updating SU from v1.80 to 1.85 (both devices updated via Google Play updates)... even my Nexus 7 is showing same prompt "Root possibly lost. Fix root?". Any fix? I dont understand. Please advise.

Ryan Cavitt commented on 2013-12-15 at 20:38:

+Keneth Correa I would run the fix if you do lose root download the supersu 1.85 update zip and flash it.

Keneth Correa commented on 2013-12-15 at 20:46:

+Ryan Cavitt When I get that prompt in recovery... and click "Yes (fix root)".... i dont lose root. Either ways i rebooted again in recovery and flashed the zip... rebooted again... and no prompt showed. Once device rebooted... I went back into recovery.... clicked reboot system now... and once again the prompt showed up... grrr !!! So i'm definitely not losing root... the prompt is just getting to me now...!!

Keneth Correa commented on 2013-12-15 at 21:01:

ok i think its becoz of this:

Changelog

  • Fix su permission reset on 4.4 (will not be an issue until Samsung comes out with stock 4.4 ROMs)

Right?

Ryan Cavitt commented on 2013-12-15 at 21:03:

Kevin Conlin commented on 2013-12-16 at 01:11:

Just updated to 1.85 on nexus 7 2012 grouper with 4.4.2 kitkat.  Reboot took an unusually long time and there was a tombstone waiting for me (toolbox mkdir).  Weirdly, something had created a folder  "/ro,remount"; I'm guessing it was SuperSu because that was the only app update prior to the reboot.

Looks good, apparently normal boot with no tombstone or spurious directory.  A few random errors in the logcat, one was generated by SuperSU (isLaunchedBySettings: No).

Update SuperSu v1.65

. Apagamos nuestro Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

. Lo reiniciamos en modo download. Para ello pulsamos a la vez la

techa de Volumen abajo + On/Off + Home. Aceptamos pulsando

volumen arriba.

On/off.

. Elegimos la opción Installa zip. En el modo recovery nos

desplazamos con las teclas de volumen y aceptamos con on/off.

. En la siguiente página elegimos choose zip from /sdcard si lo

guardamos en la tarjeta.

. Ahora nos aparecerán todas las carpetas de nuestro smartphone.

Buscamos y seleccionamos nuestro archivo UPDATE-SuperSUv1.65.

zip.

. Cuando el proceso termine veremos en la parte inferior: Install

from sdcard complete, press any key to continue. Así que solo

tenemos que hacer clic en on/off y reiniciar nuestro smartphone a

través de la opción Reboot system now.

Enhorabuena! Ya eres root. No olvides visitar mi pagina web www.jackcotattoo.com
