This update brings the much requested feature to mount by partition label name instead of block device name, so your files keep appearing in the same spot. If the label cannot be detected, the unique id of the partition will be used, and only if that cannot be detected either, will the name of the block device be used as mount-point. Requires Android 4.1 and the Pro version!

Of course, enabling this feature and then proceeding to mount various drives with the same (or empty) label is asking for trouble.

Additionally, a feature was added to create symbolic links in /mnt and /storage to the actual mount point. Those links will include label, uuid, and block device name. Requires the Pro version.

Last but not least, if you're on KitKat, the notification icon is now all white.

Play should start updating in a few hours.

For those having issues, let me know if this version fixes the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51312332&postcount=921

Note that under Settings -> Apps -> StickMount, you may be able to uninstall the last update and go back to v2.50,

+Stanley Chan Titanium Backup is your friend, I always backup all of my apps just in case something like this happens, or worse... or installing a new ROM.

On a side note, I haven't experienced any problems with the new update, FWIW

LFB commented on 2014-03-23 at 17:17:

Chainfire. Worked perfect here! Youre a God thanks! 3.01 perfect in my Nexus 7 now! Thumbs up!

Dan Ramos commented on 2014-03-24 at 00:36:

How about, if the mount name already exists, you should make it fail-down through label, uuid and finally block device name instead of warning us that we're asking for trouble?

"This update brings the much requested feature to mount by partition label name "...

"Of course, enabling this feature and then proceeding to mount various drives with the same (or empty) label is asking for trouble."

Does this mean that the user has to enable this feature?  If so, how?

I'm trying to mount several usb mass storage devices to transfer files between them.  This feature is real important to me.

Probably a more fundamental problem is when I try to use StickMount Pro, I answer the prompt and it just displays, "searching" and never shows active mounts.  My devices show up as uba1 and ubc1, not as the more frequently seen sda1, etc..  Are you looking for ub* folder names?  I am running CM 10.2 on a Nook HD+.

I have successfully manually mounted these devices using /dev/block/uba1 and ubc1.  But if the devices are unplugged and re-connected, they come back as another ub__.

Mounting by partition label is the way to go!

Added:  I just got home and checked out the Stickmount label option.  I see how to enable it.  It just doesn't work for me.  Could it still be because my devices need to be /dev/block/ubXX, not the typical sdaX?  The usb devices also show up as /dev/block/vold/180:XX and /dev/block/vold/170:XX.
