I have just uploaded v4.20 of Mobile ODIN to Google Play, it should start updating in a few hours.

This update brings only two things: it updates the injected SuperSU to version 1.94, and adds support for these Galaxy S5 models:

  • International SM-G900F

  • Oceania SM-G900I

  • Korea SM-G900L

  • Middle and South America SM-G900M

  • Sprint SM-G900P

  • US Cellular SM-G900R4

  • T-Mobile US SM-G900T

  • Metro PCS SM-G900T1

  • Canadia SM-G900W8

One thing I was surprised by during the development of S5 compatibility is the epic speed of the S5's flash storage. It is so much faster than any other S or Note models before it ... !

The free version is available from the XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899

Thank you.

denis sorn commented on 2014-05-01 at 19:15:

People who want to root/flash they devices still consider Samsung? I had Note 3,and didn't won't to set Knox flag, because it was brand new, so I had given it to my wife and took her S4. I'm now running CM on it and I will probably keep this device for a while. But I'm sure this will be the last Samsung for me, if things don't change significantly.

Ismael Rodriguez commented on 2014-05-01 at 19:35:

+denis sorn I have to check again, but I thought there was a way to flash and then go back to start while refreshing the Knox flag. If not, oh well...just means I'll have to stick with it and be careful. :-P (Have the Note II, waiting for the IV.)

denis sorn commented on 2014-05-01 at 20:54:

+Ismael Rodriguez the only way to avoid Knox was to stay with old boot loaders, on some phones. People who already got their devices with newer bootloaders and Knox have no way of avoiding it, or resetting Knox flag.

Ismael Rodriguez commented on 2014-05-01 at 20:56:

+denis sorn Gotchya. And yup...definitely something to think about. Then again...I'm pretty good at taking care of my devices, so not too much of a loss if I trip Knox's flag. Good to know, though.

Rusty Shackleford commented on 2014-05-02 at 00:58:

Who gives a crap about knox. My s4 is rooted and film blown bad ass. Knox has absolutely no effect on my system at all. In fact just disable it and go on about your business. It's all you whiney people that mess with your phones and mess them up then try to turn them in for warranty that has got all the carriers pissed off in the first place. Take responsibility for your self. Knox means nothing.

Anthony Cecena commented on 2014-05-02 at 03:46:

I used titanium backup to turn the Knox file into a user app s.o that I could delete it safely. Mobile Odin is the bomb!

Anthony Cecena commented on 2014-05-02 at 03:46:

Thanks guys job well done

Jay Han commented on 2014-05-02 at 03:48:

+denis sorn I've rooted my note 3 and knox is 0x0.

I didn't buy the phone with the mind set of rooting and romming... But of coarse within a month or two... I wanted access to system files to customize my phone... I definitely doubt knox is keeping people away. Most people I know don't even care about tripping knox and root/flash without even checking if they've tripped knox. To each their own but I prefer my Samsung currently over most/all other phones out there right now. (Huge S-pen advocate here)

ChainFire - can you update if flashing a fully intact samsung signed firmware with odin, with no rooting of any kind (the original installed firmware is signed as well, KNOX is at 0x0). Just taking a newer signed firmware and flash it. will it trigger KNOX ? thanks  - i cant really find someone who can comment on it.

John Gómez commented on 2014-05-03 at 02:08:

Hey dude thanks a lot for the app, I have a question about the usb host in huawei ascend y511 still not allowed, how can be fixed? Thanks a lot again!

Robbie Coleman commented on 2014-05-03 at 03:43:

+Jay Han How did you root your Note 3 without tripping KNOX? I have the S5 with T-Mobile and need to avoid tripping it because I'm on the JUMP program. Been dying to root. This is the longest I've gone without rooting.

Jay Han commented on 2014-05-03 at 03:50:

I used cf auto root.

Robbie Coleman commented on 2014-05-03 at 04:13:

+Jay Han that trips KNOX as +Chainfire states both on the Note 3 post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423): "Additionally, it will also trigger the KNOX warranty void status." as well as the S5 post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537): "Using this root increases your flash counter and trips the KNOX warranty flag!". So now I'm really confused.

Jesse Holroyd commented on 2014-05-03 at 06:02:

@Robbie, he didn't. If he used CF-Auto Root his counter reads, KNOX 0x1. No way around it.

Jay Han commented on 2014-05-03 at 06:18:

+Jesse Holroyd

First off, don't talk about what my phone says when you have no idea. Prove to me my phone says 0x1

Second. Quit talking out your ass like you know something.

+Robbie Coleman

I looked into this... Turns out Canadian variant has boot loaders unlocked? My firmware says custom, this is true but flashing stock rom actually sets this back to official... As for knox... 0x0. I'll say it again. 0x0

Now I'm almost certain this only applies to Canadian variants. N900w8 models only. Possibly t mobile note 3 as well since they do not have locked boot loaders.

So maybe it's not a good idea in your particular case.

Ezekiel Taylor commented on 2014-05-05 at 00:28:

+Chainfire Hi Jorrit, do you have any idea why when I select a file, zip or tar, MobileOdin won't populate the relevant fields and therefore cannot flash any files? This is on a Note 3 with 4.4.2.

Can anybody please help me at least to understand why I can't get the usb host in my huawey ascend y511, android 4,2. It is possible to active it?

Joe Morales commented on 2014-05-09 at 06:32:

If I choose not to wipe, my phone will not be reset and my apps will remain. Is this correct? Also, how do I know or check to see that the phone doesn't auto update? There is no auto update in the settings anymore.

Works perfect on Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505. Only after updating the GPE virgin rom (from Jared Busch) with Mobile Odin, the phone model number is LTE GT-9505G and Mobile Odin doesn't support that model. Please add support for LTE GT-9505G, the hardware is the same as the LTE GT-9505.

Hello CHAINFIRE. I am a fan of your products and want to get mobile Odin pro but my device isn't supported. I downloaded the lite version of the app from XDA to see if it would work and it told me to make a dump file and after about 15 mins it finishes but then I check and there's no dump file and I can't use the app. The device I'm using is called a wikipad or WPT005 and its running Jellybean 4.1.1. Please help. My email is austinabate@gmail.com
