Jorrit Jongma commented on 2014-05-22 at 14:23:

There will never be a SM-N900A CFAR because it has a locked bootloader.

Jorrit Jongma commented on 2014-05-22 at 14:25:

+Crimnson Fury +michael burton CFAR generally only supports devices that come with unlocked bootloaders. I am considering adding support for 'unlockable' bootloaders (HTC, Motorola, Sony, etc) but not quite there yet. It won't be as fully automated as for Samsung, though!

Hector V Rhon commented on 2014-05-22 at 14:36:

How about SM-G900A? Is there any other way to root this device?

Ashish Soni commented on 2014-05-22 at 14:41:

+Chainfire Do you have all these devices? Just wondering ?

antonio valero commented on 2014-05-22 at 15:30:

Dose this work with the at&t note 3 on kit kat?

Jorrit Jongma commented on 2014-05-22 at 15:34:

+Ashish Soni I generally have at least one of each family of devices. That is quite cross-model, there are typically dozens of models of the same family.

It does work on the 4.3 at& t note 3,- I did it for two phones. But once updated to 4.4 "kitkat", it doesn't work/root. Its the bootloader as they say yall. The apple guys are hacking their 7.1.1 update/firmware, but our android guys can't root the N900A kitkat. Wwwwwow ?

NAIM SALAHUDDIN commented on 2014-05-24 at 06:01:

I used cf-ar too do (2) note 3 at& t 4.3 jb phones. So I do know that it works for jb on down.

Adam J Elliott commented on 2014-05-25 at 06:41:

What about the note 3 sm n900v hlte ,that has the leaked NC2 4.4.2 which is SEpermissive on boot and is free of any Knox security.also. free. And has the 3.4.0dpi kernel that is unlocked per say, well kernel modules ,full custom ROM flash and recovery will be able. Its pretty recent and honestly am anxious to see what's to come as of OC/UV, some better scaling govs/IO govs etc.... I'm happy with this ROM ,using the deodex ver. It took a little bit to get it settled in but is smooth now. Thanks for all your products BTW , and am enjoying pryfi at the moment.

Our note 3 running NC2 is still waiting for root. At& t & Verizon Note 3. Kitkat bootloader is the only stopping us. However, when I had jb 4.3, cf-ar was perfect & easy on at& t. Had incursor rom, - man I miss my jb. Kk isn't nothing to me, boring. Need our root so I can put a nice rom on here ?

Anthony Contreras commented on 2014-06-10 at 20:56:

Hey Chainfire. A lot of people are sad. There is an $18,000 bounty for the At&t S5, I have the At&t S5 Active Camo. Any chance you can get root and claim the bounty? Your the man and thanks for what you do !!!! PS. Love this At&t Samsung Galaxy s5 Active !!!!!! Needs root bad though man. Bad.

Chainfire commented on 2014-06-11 at 07:35:

If you want root, don't buy bootloader locked devices - it's that simple. You know Verizon and AT&T Samsungs are bootloader locked, so if you buy them anyway, then complain about them not being rootable, well...

Frank Earl commented on 2014-06-12 at 21:16:

No argument there, but I'd hacked mine before they locked it down good with KitKat- and didn't  know they'd hosed it up but good for someone wanting to control their device.  Any  hopes for a CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root for an i545 S4 showing "Custom" and an unlocked padlock on boot?  If not, have some suggestions for a brave and bold soul to blaze new territory soon?

Anthony Contreras commented on 2014-06-13 at 12:29:

Okay, thanks. I had the Note 3 and we got root for that. Just no kernal but root is just fine with me. Bootloader locked and all but still can have root. Looks like Geohot rooted the At&t s5.

JMXI INDUSTRIES commented on 2014-06-16 at 04:53:

Is the Verizon S5 Developer Edition included?

Frank Earl commented on 2014-06-16 at 21:03:

Apparently the word is that the S5 Dev Edition (Damnit...no budget.  I got the S4 for free...)  that it's more than doable.  They don't lock it down (Developer editions that're locked down like they've done the S4's and Consumer S5's are...ahem...less than useful and a bit of a fraud there...) and there's descriptions of how to load TWRP and SuperSU onto it.

Jr Jackson commented on 2014-06-17 at 21:11:

Hello, I deal with alot of customers' phones remotely. I use your cf auto root files all the time and love them. I have a small issue with the t999 on NC2. After i flash the auto root file for it I have to have my customers connect to wifi and update the supersu app. Is there any way to replace the supersu app in your image files with supersu v1.94 or higher so my customers do not have to go to play store to update. It can be a pain in the butt trying to explain it to some customers remotely. I would be happy to donate $100 for your efforts. I tried to unpack and repack the image files myself but I think I am losing permissions in the process. Thanks in advance.

Jonathan Stovall commented on 2014-06-18 at 22:19:

Any way you could add the metropcs variant of the s3, sgh-t999n. I've tried for two days to gain root and the new geohot gave me supersu but when i rebooted to flash a new rom i lost root. Any thing to point me in the right direction would help.

Jonathan Stovall commented on 2014-06-19 at 01:25:

update: nevermind. locked bootloader. re did towelroot and have supersu again. love it. just wish someone would unlock the bootloader

Frank Earl commented on 2014-06-19 at 16:27:

Heh...  Take that up with Samsung and your service provider.  While I'm amongst the bunch that "bought" a Galaxy S-series phone with the locked up crap, it was "free" so I pay a bit of pain in taking control of the phone.  Going to see what damage a Dev-edition S5 will set me back (Maybe not much...I'm almost to the 1 yr mark on my 2yr agreement...) since they haven't locked that one down on Verizon (seriously...)  I'll wait and see if they get one in one of the stores around here or if I have to custom order- if I get to play w/one I might consider the jump.  At least it won't be like the GNex' story.
