I've just uploaded v2.00 to Google Play. v2.00 not because this version is something special, but because we ran out of v1.xx numbers.

The changelog ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23427824&postcount=3 ) is long. If you're checking that link, note that v1.97 was also never released on Play, so if you haven't followed the development releases, the changes listed there are also relevant for you.

The flashable ZIP is available from my own server as usual: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

The discussion thread on XDA-Developers can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

There are actually still a couple of known issues with the very latest AOSP builds, and a large number of points on my to-do list, but you have to release at some point ...

Just because we didn't see a lot of the 'negative' changes for AOSP that were documented earlier in the 4.4.3 release, doesn't mean they aren't still coming in the next Android update - they most likely are -, so I keep testing with AOSP (a tiresome job).

Also, this update should fix issues with installing SupeSU from Play if you've used Towelroot. Geohot did include the latest development version of SuperSU's binaries (from v1.99r5) but didn't include the APK (... yeah ...) - and the APK from Play was older until now.

I may sound stupid but following you on xda is pointless for some of us.  Cannot comment or report problems there until I make 10 postings.  Where what why is not listed.

As I said elsewhere, in my 39 years of Unix/Linux development I never encountered such attitudes, but this is not a reflection on you.  On the contrary, you seem like a fine programmer and I wish you all the best.

If you show me a way to report on XDA, I will do so.  Until then I will report bugs (sorry, "issues") here and hope you will see them and relate.

Anthony Maffei commented on 2014-06-18 at 14:16:

Thanks I used towelroot and was having trouble getting the app to work but it's fine now

+Rishabh Sharma. Not possible!

Malthe Høj-Sunesen commented on 2014-06-18 at 15:20:

+SheemOn Shapiro XDA kinda have this "If you're new and don't know what is what, then fuck off." attitude, and that is the single reason I don't use it.

Awesome job guys !!! Really nice

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-18 at 18:21:

so I was wondering...does any of this new SELinux stuff affect the proper operation of adbd Insecure? It hasn't been updated in a little over a year. However, the last change note on Play was for SELinux, so it's got that going for it.

Justin Martin commented on 2014-06-18 at 18:48:

Thanks Chainfire!

B QWT commented on 2014-06-18 at 19:35:

Silly question, but I've always wondered -- aside from user preference, is there a legitimate advantage over either reflashing SuperSU updates via recovery, or simply updating via Google Play? (I've always flashed updates via recovery, but I suspect it doesn't actually matter.)

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-18 at 19:41:

+B QWT , downtime.  Updating from Play means you can still receive calls, SMS, or whatver else your Android usually does while booted fully.  If SuperSU decides it needs a reboot, you are only down for the time of a reboot, not entering into recovery or whatever, so it's about as speedy as it can be to get back to an operational state.

Deybin Espinoza commented on 2014-06-18 at 20:19:

Como instalar esta actualización de superSU

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-18 at 21:31:

+Deybin Espinoza , como cualquier otra, boot CWM o TWRP recovery y instale UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip con adb sideload, o de /data/media/0/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip , etc.

Me gusta fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp.img más bien que flashing recovery.

(Por favor excusa mi español roto; lo estudié solamente cuatro años.  Mi lengua primera es inglés.)

Deybin Espinoza commented on 2014-06-18 at 21:42:

Mira soy un poco nuevo en android si no es mucha la molestia y pido disculpa me podrían enseñar como se hace el boot CWM o TWRP. Lo que pasa es que use framaroot para rooter el celular y después que instalo el superSU me pedía que actualizara los binarios. Actualmente tengo acceso root por ir invertigando mas y mas pero mi problema es que si apago o reinicio el celular se pierde el acceso a root y es para mi un problema ayudame porfavor

Deybin Espinoza commented on 2014-06-18 at 21:43:

Mi celular es un blu dash 5.0

Chainfire commented on 2014-06-18 at 21:46:

+B QWT If you flash the full update ZIP from recovery (the one for download, not the recovery option that SuperSU itselfs gives you when updating binaries), it can solve some issues that SuperSU's integrated updater cannot overcome.

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-18 at 22:07:

No conozco con "framaroot" y cómo funciona, ni Blu Dash.  Lo siento, no sé cómo entrar modo fastboot para ejecutar por ejemplo TWRP,  ni cómo flash recovery en este dispositivo, o si eso sería necesario.  Otra vez, lo siento, no creo que puedo ayudarle.

Deybin Espinoza commented on 2014-06-18 at 22:11:

Ok gracias

Frank Solares commented on 2014-06-18 at 22:34:

Just updated app on note 3 and now it says it can't update binary. It was working fine, prior to update

Robin Dunn commented on 2014-06-19 at 05:19:

The flashable zip seems to be not a valid zip file.  I've tried downloading with different browsers and on both the desktop and my devices.

I tried with curl too and it seems the server is closing the connection before the transfer is complete:  "curl: (18) transfer closed with 98912 bytes remaining to read"

弘毅WHY commented on 2014-06-19 at 07:43:

nice

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-19 at 07:45:

Corrupted/incomplete file delivery must be new because I was able to get a valid copy and re-root my Nexus 7 after the 4.4.3 OTA update just fine.

rizaldy bote commented on 2014-06-19 at 14:14:

ang galing talaga ni supersu....

Robin Dunn commented on 2014-06-19 at 15:18:

Okay, it looks like the incomplete download issue may be due to some strange interaction with my local proxy server or something similar.  When I switch the phone to a cellular data connection it's able to correctly get the whole file.

Can this version root Android 4.4.4 ?

Getodacul ٭ commented on 2014-06-20 at 15:58:

I use HTC One M8 with GPE stock 4.4.2, CWM Recovery and root. After update appear, many apps who need root stop working(busybox, root explorer, lucky patcher etc). Tried to flash the zip with the update, but after flashing, the phone reset unexpected(in recovery screen) and SuperSU app disapear. Tried to install via Google play. After install, need update. Normal button= forced reboot, CWM button = nothing. Endless loop problem.

My solution: Stop using SuperSU and flashing Superuser zip by Clockworkmod.

Triangle away for galaxy s4 9500 please!

Joe Philipps commented on 2014-06-21 at 01:00:

+Alex C. , one odd thing I can tell you is that if I did setenforce permissive (actually through an app, but that's what it does "under the hood"), SuperSU "suddenly" said it wanted to update the binary, and couldn't.  Then I put it back (to enforcing) and haven't had that problem since.

The issue I have (grouper + nakasi), and I don't know whether it's related to the 4.4.3 update or the SuperSU 2.00 update, is SSHDroid will start on boot, but if it ever stops after that (say, WiFi goes away), there's no way I can get it to run through the app again.  If I get an adb shell and exec su, I can run the dropbear binary (based upon the cmdline logged w/ SuperSU Pro).  There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in its own log, nor SuperSU's log, nor in logcat.  I see the notification that SSHDroid has asked for root permissions, but somehow it never executes the binary.  I renamed the binary dropbear.bin, and made a shell script to log how it was being called (redirect some echo commands to a file) with exec dropbear.bin "$@" at the end, but that shell script never gets executed because I never see any logging in the file I open in the shell script ( > mylog.txt ).  I ended up making my own shell script to invoke it (using "ip monitor" to tell when wlan0 goes up and down, and invoking/killing dropbear), and call that from install-recovery-2.sh.

Tried this not working need binary please fix this soon and put it on Google Play if so great if not then I will look elsewhere but for now I'm unhappy :(

N. Musumeci commented on 2014-06-27 at 15:42:

Ummm, +grand slam... +Chainfire does a lot for this Android community. This Developer Preview kind of caught everyone by surprise. Chainfire will update, but he is busy right now. If you are that unhappy, and if you need root access that bad right now, then you should have waited to flash.

CF knows what needs to be done; so you don't need to tell him to "fix this soon". Even if you do say please, it's still incredibly rude.
