EDIT: DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE USING ENCRYPTION WITH A PIN OR PATTERN UNLOCK NEEDED BEFORE ANDROID BOOTS. YOU WILL BOOTLOOP.
And even if not, prepare to bootloop...
Actually, v2.25: http://download.chainfire.eu/627/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.25.zip
There were some issues with v2.24 earlier today, hopefully v2.25 fixes all.
Yes, another beta update. The test procedure and question is the same as for v2.23, so please read that post: https://plus.google.com/113517319477420052449/posts/jGoDoPPZUdT
During testing of v2.23 it became apparent a few calls still didn't work right. Investigating that issue lead me to the conclusion that the calls that were actually fixed in v2.23, would stop working the next (minor) Android update, due to new security commits in AOSP.
v2.25 should circumvent that, as well as fix additional calls (namely: am). In theory app compatibility should be the same or better as v2.23, but please test all your apps again to see if everything still works.
And yes, for those who keep asking, the new docs relating to SuperSU and Lollipop are underway and hopefully will be released in the next day or two.
v2.25 out. Link in post above. Should fix all the problems. Let me know!
(note that I removed all the comments from v2.24)
Where would we be without chainfire?? #BEAST downloading now will report back.
Just booted up, synapse and ukm work fine, root browser fine, no issue with chrome here. Thanks +Chainfire!
Everything supposedly fine here on a Nexus 4 LRX21T stock rom. Wakelock detector fine, power toggles fine, Titanium Backup fine, su on terminal emulator fine. All fine AFAIK. Chrome works.
v2.25 works flawless on Galaxy Sg4 sch-I545 NG6 4.4.2 stock with Safestrap 3.75v A03 Verizon. :) Thanks +Chainfire!!
Fixed Superuser access for Helium for me. I didn't download the last beta, so what do you need tested on this one. I have a Nexus 5, 7 and Shield tablet all running 5.0. Nexus 6 is being delivered today as well.
Infinite booting in my Nexus 4 LRX21T stock rom with HellsDoctor3_L10 kernel and recovery clockwork 6.0.4.7 mako.
Any way to get CF-Auto-Root for the Shield Tablet on L? +Chainfire If you need anything to help make it happen, I'd be happy to help.
Can't seem to install Busybox...is this a known issue? I need it for Secure Settings
Infinite boot on my Nexus 5 stock 5.0 with TWRP.
Actually nevermind, I let smart install finish, tried again and busy box installed
+Tony Ortiz It installed just fine on my Nexus 5 stock 5.0 with TWRP. Maybe you got a bad download?
Infinite Boot also an Nexus 7 Stock 5.0 with TWRP
Infinite Boot also N5, Stock 5.0 with TWRP
+Ryan Houseman It's possible. Couldn't get out of the boot animation even after a full wipe. Looks like I need to reflash the image.
Flash system.img & boot.img fixes the infinite boot
+Tony Ortiz Sorry to hear that. It worked just fine for me. I hope you get it straightened out!
I cannot touch allow or refused. Had the same issue before on nexus 7 flo and nexus 5. It was Fixed in 2.23 but now it came back with 2.25
What is
Yup, infinite loop here on the N5 :(
+Chainfire aware of these? Maybe pull the download for now. Using 2.25 here.
SM-G900T 4.4.2, no issues to report. Installed via apk and updated using normal method.
N7 2013 no issues
+Artem Russakovskii what kernel?
N5 , stock image, code blue kernel, no issue.
+Allan Daigle Just stock everything.
+Artem Russakovskii when I was stock kernel I used cf autoroot then flashed supersu. Not sure if that's required
Infinite loop on Nexus 5. Data is encrypted. I can't get to the decryption password input.
+Tony Ortiz +Marc Bogadi +Javi Ds +Artem Russakovskii
Unfortunately there are thus far no leads at all as to what causes the bootloop for some users. Can you reproduce it reliably? I.e., just reflashing the system partition should fix any bootloop, then flashing the ZIP again introduces it again? Are you using a recent TRWP?
I didn't flash the ZIP file, but installed from apk file, updated su binary and rebooted. Recovery is the stock one.
+Chainfire I'm using TWRP I just downloaded from TWRP's site, so at least yes on that.
Infinite boot loop is confirmed to be due to encryption when needed a pin/pattern unlock at boot. Will investigate and release a fix.
+Tony Ortiz +Marc Bogadi +Javi Ds Please see if this one works better: http://download.chainfire.eu/629/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.26.zip
TWRP can't be used to create a nandroid when encrypted. Can it be used to flash this?
Hi!
Cant download neither 2.25 no 2.26 with Android 5, Nexus 4.
It says bad zip. Whats wrong?
Thanks
Oh, im stupid.
It was ES explorer issue.
Im sorry.
Trying 2.26
2.26 fixed all issues with my n4/a5.
Thanks a lot!
Bootloop on OnePlus CM11S without encryption
+Chainfire 2.26 fixed the infinite boot of 2.25 on my N7 2013 encrypted.
+Chainfire 2.26 fixed it for my OnePlus one too
Thank you chanfire
As mentioned by +Thiago de Paula I also had an infinite loop with BETA 2.25 with Nexus 4 and Android 5.0 (the version from Google)
Nexus 4 with Android L. Until now root actions like airplane mode on AutomateIt Pro desn't work, but with SuperSU 2.25 it works again! Great, thanks a lot.
+Chainfire not getting root previlage for xmodgames and game killer like apps in lollipop
+Chainfire 2.26 works, no infinite boot, but i also changed the TWRP Version. Nexus 7 2013 Stock 5.0
plz make this more clear in the xda thread! Just saw it hear, when its to late now...
was with 2.25 beta
is there a version out now we can use with encryption?
I became bootloop as you said. I am using Android5.0 R5.4 LRX21T. Lucky I have backup ~
N5 5.0
flashed factory img, wait until apps are recovered and flashed 2.25 with twrp 2.8.1.0 and... bootloop
