SuperSU v2.35 is rolling out on Play as we speak (Amazon will also be updated soon). The flashable ZIP is available via http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu immediately as well. All CF-Auto-Root's have already been updated.
The last full Play update was v2.01, if you want to know all the changes since then, see the changelog post in SuperSU's main XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23427824&postcount=3
The How-To SU document - http://su.chainfire.eu/ - has also been updated with the latest information. There's a lot on SELinux that may not be relevant to all root app devs, but it will be to some. If you're a dev, I'd advise reading through it, if only so you know where to look if you do run into an issue.
From 4.4 to 5.0
It's been a bumpy ride, and there have been a lot of changes along the way. Things initially solved one way, ended up getting scrapped and being solved other ways, as AOSP progressed and L preview releases came out.
From needing heavy work-arounds for basic commands, to boot image (ramdisk) patches, back to simple commands by employing live policy patches and hooking daemon launch in a different way.
Some shortcuts could have been taken. Initially, I was focused on getting everything to work without having to patch SELinux, which led to some pretty hefty experiments and codewise lengthy work-arounds. As security patches kept being committed to AOSP though, there was a turning point where it was just no longer viable to keep root without patching the policies, even if only slightly. This caused a change in perspective that lead to implementing some things very differently. Had I not been as stubborn to start out with (what else is new), some work (and time) could have been saved.
When it was time for L retail, they closed the flash_recovery service loophole which was used to start SuperSU's daemon. Because of this, SuperSU couldn't start at boot. This was no surprise to anyone paying attention - system logs have been warning of the service running unprotected for months. This is why we used ramdisk patches to launch the daemon for a while. That was fixed again a few beta versions ago. There's been some commentary about how brilliant a solution that was, but really it wasn't - personally I consider it a pretty big oversight not spotting this solution immediately when it was needed, and a bit of hassle for a fair number of users could have been avoided.
Still, aside from the drawbacks for those with locked bootloaders, I would not have minded a modified ramdisk solution that much. It would have been a good excuse to patch in an overlayfs for /system as well, so modifications to /system would not actually be written to the system partition, but to a container elsewhere. This would preserve system integrity and OTA capabilities and prevent most bootloops caused by root apps situation (or at least allow quick reversal without needing to restore backups from a recovery). A pretty clean solution to some common issues that I was actually starting to look forward to. But it seems we're not going there now, and at least for some it is better this way.
Though all in all, it was a mostly fun learning experience - coming from noob-level SELinux knowledge - imagine how much easier and quicker it would be to bring up a solution like this now that all the information is available, though.
Over the last few beta releases SuperSU has gotten a bit more material-y on the default theme, but it's still far from perfect. This is not a top priority for me at the moment. Aside from other apps needing some love, SuperSU still supports 2.x devices and all sorts of form factors no longer in use on more modern devices, so there's already enough similar-but-not-quite-the-same layouts in there, I am not enthusiastic about adding another set. Because of this, I've only made minor changes and tweaks, that do not significantly impact the overall layout, structure, or associated code.
Add to that, the compatibility libraries already in use and the material one are incompatible with eachother thus far, so those material changes that are present are not being backported to 4.x yet either.
This will be resolved in time, just not today. The UI code could use an overhaul, and 2.x support is up for review as well. The ideal time for a more extensive material makeover is when those two intersect. I will continue to make minor adjustments over the next few releases, though.
Of course, I always welcome mock-ups of what you think it should look like. I have decided on teal as the primary color though, as you will have noticed.
Note that it is possible after this update that you have two SuperSU icons on your app drawer. If this happens, go to SuperSU's settings, and change the launcher icon option to whichever one you want to use, and the other one will disappear again. This is caused by the new material style icon that was added and made default on 5.0+.
IAPs as donations/support
Pro users will have additional in-app donation options. Some very supportive users like repeatedly supporting my developments (thanks, I really appreciate that), and the number of people emailing me about not wanting to use PayPal is on the rise. So here's another option to do it. Like getting SuperSU Pro itself, this is completely optional and does not unlock any features (remember there's a checkbox in settings to get all Pro features if you don't want to or are not able to pay for Pro).
I also have a magic internet money address for those so inclined (BTC): 1JeoxivKEXbbiegsv1BrUC7fD7GgSPcqkG
Undoubtedly I'll get some hate for this, but shrug.
The last few beta releases have been largely uneventful, so I do not expect that many issues with this rollout. That being said, many millions of users will be updated, using hundreds of different devices, running on several different firmwares each, so I'm sure there will be at least some issues. Thousands of beta users does not equate to millions of end-users, after all.
So far, a Lollipop leak for the Sprint S5 was leaked earlier today for which we already know this new version has some issues (it can work, though). I will look at that when we get a firmware leak that actually runs on hardware I have here. There have also been reported oddities with the last beta on CM12, but so far I was not able to reproduce these, and this rollout has been delayed enough already. Once the cause of the issues have been found, there'll be another update.
Thanks for everything dude. Keep up the good work.
Great work as always! Love the new icon.
kool! Thanks for doing what you do
I'm having a major issue, after installing the updated binary and restarting I'm stuck at the lockscreen with "android.process.acore" repeatedly crashing. Can't get into my phone at all now. Any ideas?
Just downloaded CF Auto-Root for the Nexus 5 and saw that it patched the kernel, although I thought, this is not necessary anymore. Then, after reboot, I started SuperSU and it says v2.20 instead of v2.35!?
Please help when I root my device asphalt 8 not work help please
Fantastic work and thank you, +Chainfire. For those who have selected a different launcher icon, you'll note two application icons after updating. Under "settings" simply select the default launcher icon and you'll be back to one.
oops did i just drop some coinage on you +Chainfire .. doggone thumb ... it gets a bit tappy...
Anyway to root the note 4 :(
Appreciate your hard work!
Many thanks. Android is nothing without root access.
Thanks for all your hard work.
+Chainfire when I used the cf-autoroot prior to this one for my nexus 7 2013, it patched the boot image. Does this version, remove the patch yet keep root? Or does the patch not affect future lollipop ota's?
+melissa johnson which device and firmware? how did you perform the install? Flashed full ZIP, updated from store, then "normal" method, or "TWRP/CWM" method? And if the latter, which one and which version do you have?
+Thomas Börkel I'm not sure why the Nexus 5 CFAR wasn't updated. There's a handful of other devices not updated either. Running the update script again, but this takes a few hours.
It would help, if there were some version.txt inside the ZIP. ;-)
How to get fully rid of 2.20? Unroot, flash system, flash boot, flush cache? Thanks!
+Chainfire thanks for the update, love the new teal look...
Could you include an option to not colour the navigation bar?
The theme of the SuperSU app is real nice !
+Thomas Börkel the Nexus5 CFAR is updated now, I think. Reflash stock boot.img, then flash a newer SuperSU/CFAR/whatever.
+Wim Vandekerckhove you can flash back the old boot.img if you want. You're not going to get OTAs until you reflash your /system anyway, regardless of patching kernel. Keeping the old kernel does no harm, though.
+Connor Kirkby select any theme from settings but the material light / dark action bar ...
Chainfire, how root a Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite?
+Chainfire what would be the proper method then to proceed. Refresh system then use the latest cf-autoroot. I presume that one will not patch the kernel? I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to the actual inner mechanics of rooting and ota's. Feel free to continue this over at XDA through pm. I'm the one that sent you that pm about sixaxis (no support question.
I want to be as stock as possible with root.
So much awesome!! Thanks for providing the additional in-app donation options. You have singlehandedly added sooo much value to my phone I will happily give you more money.
You'll get no hate from me dude... only beer tokens! Your work is invaluable and I'll keep buying your stuff and have just upgraded to SuperSU Pro! Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for all you do!
Chainfire thanks for being one stubborn SOB keep doing what you do best.
+Wim Vandekerckhove just continue as is for now, when you know there's an OTA, reflash boot and system images.
+Marco Scardovi I'm not currently translating those (I guess Play auto-translates?) because then I don't know what it says, and there's a lot more to keep updated. I may do so in the future, though. Thanks for the offer!
+Chainfire OK will do. Then just reroot using the then available cfar I presume?
Cool icon on status bar
Eres el mejor chainfire
Can't wait for the day that my Note 4 for AT&T gets root and I can have SU back and have full control of my device. Thanks for all the hard work! +Chainfire
+Chainfire, so basically the autoroot will wipe every Nexus 6 since they come encrypted, correct? I was trying to use Wugfresh earlier, and flashed your zip. In the process I lost half my HDD when I did (which Wug said is common) and had to factory reset to get it back, which then removed SuperSU and I was left unrooted again. If I flash your zip through adb, I shouldn't run into that "loss of space" issue, correct?
Edit: Nevermind. Wug just upgrade his toolkit to use your new .zip (You have to select BETA for it work). It worked flawlessly and did not wipe anything off the device at all.
+Chainfire if I rooted my nexus 9 with the CF-autoroot that was doing kernel patches will I need to do something special or just update from the play store?
+Chainfire great work as always.
Would it be possible to include a short quite or maybe a link to a guide that tells us how to revert back the boot and system images? I can see many including myself for my N5 needing to get back for OTA compatibility, but as we relied on you excellent tools to get the rooting done, we don't all have the knowledge on reflashing the separate images.
No issues with this update on my Galaxy S5 G900a.... Locked Bootloader ?... ... (and I like the teal icon best) ?. As always, great work. Knowledge is POWER!
Thanks for your Work
Awesome work thanks!
Thanks for your work.
Thanks for all your work on this ?
Thank you very much for your hard work. I'll definitely be donating to the cause. Thanks again.
+Chainfire I installed the new update from the Play Store and installed the binary. It said it was installed successfully, and it said to reboot. So I did. Now my phone is taking a long time to boot back up. i have Android L, and it is at the "Flying Dots" screen. Is this normal?
Thank you for your hard work!
On July 5th, I mentioned on the XDA SuperSU thread that as an owner of a device that was still running Android 2.x Chainfire should focus on 4.x and up rather than worrying about legacy devices. Between then and now, I have updated to a device (Galaxy S4) that has no issue with 2.35. Regardless, my thoughts on the matter are still the same.
Back then, Gingerbread and Froyo combined were at about 20%. As of Nov. 3, 2014, the number is around 10%. Thus, while the numbers should speak for themselves in persuading Chainfire to sunset 2.x support, when continued support for 2.x is reviewed, I vote to end it. With all the work Chainfire has done to get SuperSU working correctly on Android 5.0, continuing support for 10% of the total device installs drains resources better spent on the remaining 90%.
Thanks a bunch man. You are helping out millions of users getting our desired features. Hope you make a nice livin' out of it
thanks for the update. failed to update binary thru normal mode. thank you.
Thank you, bro! Donating multiple times is worth it for this work. Get your vacation on! ?
The ROOT Lord has spoken good news!! Thanks a lot +Chainfire keep up the great work :)
So can I safely update to Lollipop now and not expect all my root apps to go all screwey? Including Freedom?
Is it possible to update from BETA-SuperSU-2.30 to UPDATE-SuperSU-2.35 via the Play store?
When I update from the Play store, opening SuperSU prompts me that the binaries need updated.
When I continue, the installation fails and am told to reboot and try again (which again fails).
Installing the zip from TWRP works but just want to know if it is possible to update from a beta version?
+Chainfire Do i need to flash the contents of cfautoroot zip again or just update the app from Play Store??
+chainfire slight issue: Updated my mtk clone running 4.2 through the play store. It installed, supersu and said the binary needed updating, so I said ok, and chose "normal method", as I always did in the past. It reported 'failed' and supers dumped out. I tried a couple more times, got the same results. So I tried the cwm/twrp method. It rebooted to recovery, flashed the update.zip, then my recovery warned me I had no root access any more. I.e. no su binary, and prompted me to fix it (I use carliv touch recovery). I said no, rebooted, and supersu also reported no su binary. So I said screw it all, downloaded the flashable zip, uninstalled supersu, booted to recovery and installed it. Which lead me to a bootloop. I have never had this before. I wish I saved a log or two, but my last nandroid is about a month old, and I was quite passed at myself for not making one before this, so I just restored without thinking and I have 68 package updates to go on my phone. Just wanted to report an issue. Maybe later I'll try updating the supersu package again and send you a log if I have the problem again.
Is this version compatible with the nexus 9 (64bit)?
I got the update through play store. It told me to update the binary, so I did that with the normal mode. It told me to reboot, and now my phone is stuck at the boot screen.
I've got a nexus 5 with lollipop and multirom.
Any way to fix this?
I downloaded the zip with my other rom and flashed it. That fixed the boot problem.
works like a charm here... note 4 910F . now we only need mobile odin to be updated ;)
Is it possible to add a theme for amoled displays?
+Chainfire I'd like to start following your work and embedding into my custom ROM. If you post on XDA what is your user handle so I can give special mention? Is it the same?
Is the new version of super su safe to flash on kit Kat 4.4.4 or is it meant for lollipop? Thank you.
+Kev K Just becouse is has material design dosent mean is only for Lollipop.
+Chainfire I've used your work for some time but received my first problem with the newest update to 2.35. I seem to have lost my recovery. When attempting to access it just boots to rom. Edit do seem to still have a recovery as I went reinstall the most recent twrp but it says it is already installed. Any suggestions?
The package arrived here (N5).
My SuperSU app always forgets all apps that I already gave access to root.
But this update was great!
+Chainfire I was able to get access to my recovery once I uninstalled 2.35 and went back to 2.30. I'm not sure what the issue was using twrp 126.96.36.199

having similar issues, needs to update binary....update failed continually on my fireHD. can not uninstall the app either to try a fresh install??! HELP?!
Thanks for all your work as always and good to see you taking BTC too (sorry i couldnt send more)
Um. Big issue! The update broke both "system" ROMS (factory and "decuro" dev ROM) on my wifes Xiaomi MI3. I'm in trouble, as I have no time solving it now. And as both system ROM's are affected, I will need to find a way to fastboot/flash the device. Before I used the updater to install the decuro ROM...
Thank you \m/
Update from Play Store was successful. The new notification 'update binary' failed. I've tried both options.
But I have Root access in Rom Toolbox and also in a terminal App.
SGS2,i9100,Android 4.21 (Wanamlite) with Philz Kernel.
+Chainfire Hello I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 stock rom and I don't see any material design in interior of app... I don't know why...
+Chainfire this new update has now allowed me to use some of Lucky Patcher's features which is great. Though I'm still having issues with an app called Wifikill. When I start said app, it asks me if I'm certain of having root access. Any ideas?
+Ricardo Guevara García si cada vz q probamos el superSU nuevo es un restore seguro
When I update the binaries before I update the app on Google play, I decided to update throught TWRP, when it flash the binaries, I kept bootlooping... But I just reboot the phone manually and boot perfect :) just note that ;) I have a Nexus 5 with stock Android 5.0.
Small thing. Update play store screenshots?
For those that are reporting bootloops, please stop solving the issue (by reflashing or otherwise) before we can look at it, else we'll never find the cause. There is no reproducable case yet. I can't make a fix without knowing the issue.
If your device does not boot but you can enter recovery, and you are going to reflash, please make a backup of /system first, it may be able to help find the issue. Also report to the XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
If the binary update doesn't stick for some reason (SuperSU keeps asking you to update), report to the update failures thread on XDA and provide the requested information and logs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/support-update-failures-t2907365
A crash issue with 2.x and 3.x devices has been identified and will be fixed in the next update. Which will be whenever the cause for the bootloops is also found.
+Sarko Mhamad are you using an add blocking app? My experience is that these app's stop asphalt 8 from working. You need to add asphalt 8 servers to your white list in the add blocking program. If you Google this there are a lot of instructions on how to do it.
Working fine on OnePlus One + Slimkat 4.4.4
I run a lollipop rom on my XT1032(XPerience 9). I had to flash latest superSU beta .zip to get root.
Can i update via playstore now?
Hey Chainfire what would we do without you top man.
ran into issues running stock on the moto g xt1064 (bootloops)
but for what its worth i have SU access using 2.16 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/xt1064-lollipop-root-t2938051 on the moto g xt1064
Works without a Custom Kernel? Are there any problems with the nexus 4? (with Android 5.0)
Nexus 5 L, rooted with wugfresh NRT, encrypted. I think the last part is my hang up.
+Ed Bailey I tried to investigate the situation on my own 2012 Nexus 7, which indeed failed to update the binary. Trying it a second time worked, though, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'll reflash it again tomorrow and re-do from start.
En mi galazy s3 no se puede abrir la app
hi i need root to galagsy s3 i9300i 4.3 jelly bean please
hi im having a problem after updating in the playstore, updated binary in normal and restarting I'm stuck at the lockscreen as its always crashing. im using zenfone 5 kitkat 4.4.2
+Chainfire Sorry about the noise! The bootloop might have been triggered by the update. However, after reflashing the dev ROM (to both "system" partitions) and re-installing supersu via app-stopre the device works again. Installation, i.e. replacing to dev ROMs "su" implementation, went smooth. Hope it will not break with the next OTA update. I mainly wanted to have root to remove unneeded system apps, but it might be a bit too much of a hassle after all. Maybe I should "unroot" the device (use the stable ROM) again anaway. -- Conclusion: supersu is still the best su!
love you chain fire mwa mwa mwa xoxoxo
can i update the app wihout having issues after it? Because the SuperSU Binary must be updated to, can i update that to??
Updated my phone, and the home key no longer works. I can use it to wake the phone, but when I'm in an app the home key no longer takes me to the home screen. I also do not receive text messages. Will try to uninstall...
I have a previous version.. Will it work if I update from play store or should I flash with twrp? Don't know the right process to update.. Some help please...
The free in app purchases in lucky patcher is not working on my nexus 4 after the lollipop update. Please help me with tat....
Any chance of making a Pro feature to "hide" SU from apps who check for root?
Brilliant... Update broke root. Can we expect a self rooting app for all of us that were shut out from the latest updates. GeoHotz was really paid off to stop updating towelroot by google. Please don't sell out bro. You are the hope of our digital future.
v2.36 has started rolling out in the meantime. Fixes a crash on 2.x and 3.x devices, and some update failures on 4.2 specifically.
Nice work, as always. Thank you!

I wished everyone would design their apps to material
+Chainfire thanks for trying it out on your Nexus 7. Would my posting my '7's information to your "[SUPPORT] Update failures" thread on XDA be any help? Or should I try 2.36 and hope for the best?
On my 2012 Nexus running lollypop trying to update using TWRP won't boot. Normal option errors out.
Should I disable namespace separation? I have no idea what it does and the latest Tibackup is now warning that unless I turn it off I may have problems. What will turning it off affect?
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.36.zip, in the script "- Creating space" and "- Restoring files" parts, there is a problem: if there is no "GMS_Maps.apk" "YouTube.apk" or "Maps.apk" ,after install finished, then 3 files named before will be created in "/system/app" folder, but 0 byte, and can not be deleted, hope to fix this. Thanks!
How about Android 5.0 on Samsung S5 Sprint. It says I have no root access. When I flash CF-root anyone know why?
Or how can you disable KNOX?
Thanks it works on nexus 5 !
what‘s the different between the latest CFAR（nexus5） and the CFAR（nexus5）updated with supersu 2.35？ Does they change the kernel？ And thanks your work.
Got the latest update (fix). Updated no problems (after holding my breath)
Thank you, quick turnaround.

Chainfire...my superSPU rusak......bisakah kamu membantuku tuk memulihkannya....karena screen shot ku jd g bs dibuka atau digunakan lagi...thanks
Hello .. why me cannot play supersu .. he say su binary .. my phone samsung tab 3
Thank you !
Hi +Chainfire in this article you mention that the CF-Auto Root files have also been updated to reflect the recent changes to the SuperSU app. I have a Galaxy S4 model SPH-L720 on software version L720VPUFNG2; running android 4.4.2 and is on the Sprint Network. When checking you site: http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/, I have noticed that the root files available for the Sprint SPH-L720 is still the previous software version: L720VPUFNAE; I was wondering if the updated version L720VPUFNG2 is or can be flashed so that I can get root access to my Galaxy phone once again.
Samsung Galaxy I9505 Android 4.4.2 NG8
+Chainfire what about note 4. No root available?? please
+David Gbuzue root is available for note 4? Chainfire released it before the note 4 was even release but he can't do much whenever he has a locked bootloader if you have one of those
No hate. All thanks.
+Micha Micha you asked two questions ( Works without a Custom Kernel? Are there any problems with the nexus 4? (with Android 5.0)) and I gave 2 answers. "Yes & No" :)
+B. Blau Ok ! Nice to know! ':-)
My Sprint SM-G900P just doesn't want to play nice with the CF-Auto Root method. Tracked down the latest version from XDA-Developers Forum and your latest version from this site. Odin says it works, but the phone just reboots into recovery mode and sits there. If I yank the battery, it will boot up normally. I'm waiting to see if anyone on XDA responds. I know this isn't the proper place for individual help, unless you guys can point me to the right articles, etc. -
FYI - I just upgraded to the pro version of SuperSU and Triangle Away, Plus Mobile Odin Pro, just to show my support.
Tyvm update binary solved.
how can I root my device
its 4.4.2 kitkat
I want personally apologize to +Chainfire for doubting his work.. you see I used a different root file which I thought were the files for my phone at least that is what the article stated. These root files I used referenced the updated firmware for the SPH-L720 Sprint variant Galaxy S4, when I attempted to use those files, my phone bricked! Since I couldn't get my phone to work after attempting to re-install the samsung official stock firmware, I attempted with the CF-Auto-Root +Chainfire has on his list of CF-Auto-Root website. Again I apologize for doubting your work, your files actually worked and got my phone back operating again. Never again will I doubt your hard work you do for everyone who is looking for ways to root their devices.
Thank you +Chainfire for your dedication to the work you perform.
I am sincerely grateful for what you do.
Is it already possible to gain root access to the Galaxy S5 with the official Lollipop firmware?

Nexus 10 Android 5.0.1. SuperSU was updated from Play Store and updated binary via TWRP. Stuck in bootloop. HELP!
encrypted galaxy nexus can no longer boot after todays update.. boots to TWRP 2.7.1 but TWRP doesnt like my password. will not boot system only to TWRP. ideas?
+Chainfire man..just in case nobody told you today...you're the shit.
I ended up reinstalling 5.0.1 and updating binary via Normal as opposed to TWRP and I'm all good now.
My phone is always restart after update the latest SU. Pls help.
After updating binaries on my nexus 10 (stock android 5.0, twrp) I am stuck in boot loop. I have two users on my tablet, maybe that's the issue?
please root sm-t235 galaxy tab 4 7.0 lte !! :(
Right, after flashing 2.40 from recovery I was unable to copy apps to the system/priv-app folder. However, if I cleanup SuperSU for reinstallation from GooglePlay the system/priv-app becomes available to copy to. Weird that flashing from recovery gives a problem whereas installing from the Play store doesn't. In any case, lesson learned.
Help me to update Supersu binary Version 4.2. I got tried in many ways but still same.

CF-AUTOROOT does not work o the latest note 4 exynos firmmware...I get a constant boot loop. Any workaround?
For those who are having problems updating to 4.4.4 use,Cyanogenmod 11 download to device and download to computer, turn adp mode on,ptp, and clockwork mod, backup root.Pick “ stable" rom mod for beginners, or for the developers use the nightly , don't forget your “debugging reports"...allow the the computer do the work, it should boot the device into twrp team recovery, beginners press reboot now, advanced users you know what to do....it should load up with a new load screen and it should update the system U.I. and firmware, thus same process is used for flashing but through the clockwork rom mod backup. Thank you.
Then, after the cyanogen mod operating system finally is installed and you have set up supersu permissions correctly, you should be able to use cf-lumen to its fullest extent.

+Chainfire bruh, what's the dilio with the 5.0.2 lollipop update, my nexus 7 wifi 2012 won't verify the certificate signature, I'm thinking it's the cyanogen mod, but I have wiped it off the tab updated to 5.0 lollipop and then tried to update it to the 5.0.1 and the 5.0.2 neither stuck, so I went back to 4.4.4 cyanogen, I'm content lol, but if there is a solution to this and I can keep the cyanogen.please let me know.thank you bud
I just wanted to ask; I just updated my firmware to N900PVPUDNK4 and wanted to know if I can still use CF-Auto-Root-hltespr-hltespr-smn900p.zip to root my phone?
Hello. Question: is There a reason for Knox void 0.1 galaxy s4?
Binairies won't install on oppo x9076 with COS2.0
Hello ChainFire, I've had my device rooted with your SuperSU when I try to update it, I get the so much dreaded "binary needs updating" prompt. Are you working on having a fix for this issue?
I would have manually fixed it however I'm running a lgms769 from metro pcs & it's impossible for me to get to my recovery menu to fix this issue, I've tried to manually access it & i've tried to access with reboot recovery apps.
When I tried to allow SuperSU update its binary via TWRP it re sets my whole phone & lose all my contacts.
Luckily I have back up of that.
Thank you for your good work
I decided not to update to SU 2.40 because of binairies will not install on colors OS 2.0 on oppo find7 X9076
Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now, i just won't update. Thank you Yannick :-)
Let's keep ourselve posted if any changes
Hi! I have flashed CyanogenMod 12 unofficial on my Note 2, today I have flashed the new update and after that supersu was uninstalled, then I installed it from play store and I tried to update the binaries with normal mode, but always fail...so I have every time to flash the zip file from recovery?
In the description of this app (before it's downloaded) it says it's able to TEMPORARILY unroot; after I downloaded it, I looked under SETTINGS but the only option it gives is PERMANENT unroot. Do you have any other apps that can temporarily unroot my device? Thanks for your time.
No actualizan los binarios en la version: v2.40, please help me.

Can I ask is there a easy way to convert back to not rooted. I have rooted my nexus 7 with your autorooter and I am getting tired of of just 5.0.0 I want to be able to get updates
Binary cannot be updated after last app update. File signature cannot be verified. Device cannot be unrooted. After uninstaling SU obviously somehow phone is still rooted. Apps still use root access. BTW if I try to instal SU as system ap SU disappear and I have to install it again from market.
Creeping featurism request:
It would be extremely handy to be able to authorise a root requesting app after the event (probably the best way is to be able to select it from log view)
If you have clickjacking protection enabled it's quite easy for the request to time out before you can authorise - especially if there's a bluetooth keyboard active.

Just flashed the most recent CFAR on a Nexus 6 with a fresh factory install of 5.01 followed by adb sideload of the update to 5.1. Seems to be working fine.
The only odd part is I needed to do a pattern unlock twice during the initial boot rather than once.
+Torsten Meyer as I said above I have the pattern lock set at boot and CF-Autoroot installed for me on the N6. Is yours a pin rather than a pattern?
After using CF Auto Root on 5.1 (Nexus 5), Android is optimizing again all apps during boot, not only the one new app (SuperSU).
+Thomas Börkel yes, that seems to be normal. at least it is the behavior on my other nexus devices (5 and 7).
I have problem with SuperSU. Can You help me pls?

bro, i get lollipop on my note 4 (SM-N910H). I have phliz recovery... and I want to get root acces. How can i get it?
Hey Chainfire. I have tried twice to root my S5 running lollipop on the rogers network using CF-Auto-Root-kltecan-kltevl-smg900w8 and it has failed. When i say failed i mean it seems to root the device but then SU asks to update the SU binary. I select normal install of binary but it fails. When i reboot the device it gets stuck at the Samsung logo. Not sure what to do. Anyone got any ideas?
Ok i got it working. USB debugging was not enabled in developer options. Doh! I enabled and everything went fine. Another happy rooted customer. Thanks ChainFire and thanks CF auto root. :)

Dear chainfire l have rooted my bq aquaris E5 FHD with kingroot and superuser binaries are not able to be updated. What can I do? I want to use supersu like my other devices. I have the pro and root remains with updates.
Could you help me please?
Chainfire...I made the mistake of installing KINGUSER on my LG G3/AT&TAndroid5.0.1 and uninstalling SUPERSU, now, when I uninstalled KINGUSER and reinstalled SUPERSU it fails to update the binaries, I reboot and try again, same thing. Installation failed. I used rootcheck and it tells me SUPERSU by Chainfire is the Superuser management app and it's version 2.45:SUPERSU. (i purchased your pro version on 1/24/13) I tried clearing cache and dalvik cache. Should I try to remove all odex files from /data/app and /system/app?? I've done it before, they're rebuilt when I reboot.
I finally got this to work. I found a link to D850-LG G3 AutoRecovery and it installed TWRP on the first try, so easy. So then I downloaded the latest BETA of SuperSu2.49 and flashed it through TWRP...rebooted, tapped SUPERSU and bingo...NO more dreaded "The SU Binary needs to be updated" any more. Ahhhhh....but one problem with the new SuperSU2.49, CLEAN MASTER is granted permissions but when I try to go to "PHONE BOST" and then Autostart manager and try to disable an app from starting, it sits there for a little bit saying "Granting...", toast msg says its authorized and then a pop up comes up and says "Failed to Grant Root" ... Cancel or Authorize now...but I checked again, it is already authorized. I'm thinking about downgrading back to SUPERSU2.45 or 2.46 to the stable version but for now I can live with that one little problem. Other than that, it seems to be working fine.
I can't use it I root with kingo root
Yesterday i shared here a vídeo with the solution. Root with kingroot and replacement of kinduser by supersu great!!!!

I try to root my Sony Xperia TX lt 29i. 100 times but it's not.... What should I do?
Kingoroot one click. Make sure your setting in debug usb mode. Go to settings hit seven times on build number. It will make you a developer and set android into debug mode. Go to Facebook or tweeter search for kingoroot ?? . no one wants to tell you that because they want to sell you as many apps before you find it for free. Update su binary
It's not letting me update them
Recently I installed SuperSu on my Kyocera Hydro Icon (has TWRP recovery on device)... Upon opening SuperSu I was prompted to 'update binaries' and I selected the update button for CWM/TWRP. Once selecting this button the phone did a reboot and upon the phone coming back on the little green icon man showed up with the turning gears and the update line flashes to about 1/2 inch and then quickly repeats this over and over and over...
Because of this my phone cannot ever boot completely up and does not allow me to boot into my recovery program because of the above problem...
I am urgently asking you provide me with some means of getting around this problem...
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
