After installing the update, my phone no longer works. After locking the screen then the screen stays black - all I can do is take out battery and restart. I tried factory reset but that didn't work. I see now why it's called "rooting your phone"

I tried this with TWRP 3.0.2 on protox pure 2015 marshmallow and it froze at Moto logo.  Something is looping forever in the background.

I am having problems rooting my device. I was going to try the root/twrp recovery but from what i understand, don't you have a temporary root to install twrp recovery and flash the SuperSu file? I am really confused!!! I have tried the kingoroot and several other root withput pc apps and have had NO luck at all. Not even temp root, please help.
